Is it $662.61 USD, or $417.52 USD? (2022.02.04)

avatar

Today I discovered something weird. PeakMonsters says that the total value of my Splinterlands cards is $662.61 USD, while the @sm-voter bot says $417.52 USD on Discord.

Which one is closer to the actual price?

Not as if I would like to sell it for any of these prices. I am just simply asking. My Splinterlands card collection was worth more than $900 USD before the introduction of the Chaos Legion.

By the way, what are PeakCredits? Looks like I currently have 0.21 Steem, but I cannot withdraw it, and I cannot use it to buy cards either? Then what can I do with it?

Thank you for the help.

I don't even know sm-voter. I look at Peakmonsters.com as a way to gauge collection value. The Market Value is accurate with what is on the marketplace on Splinterlands.com

Splinterlands currently does not have the tools to write even the approximate value of our total Splinterlands collection, so we have to manually check the market, with is not easy with a card collection of 211 cards. I usually check the value on Discord, and today I noticed and got surprised at this difference between the listing of the sm-voter discord bot and the listing on PeakMonsters.

Either way, good luck and have fun.

Yeah, my card collection is now 595 cards lol.

So why I say it is fairly accurate to market is if I go on peakmonsters.com and select Neutral Legendary Beta cards, and look at what is on offer in the marketplace for the cards then the minimum offer is correct on peakmonsters.com.

It might not be truly the value because if someone lists a card for $30,000 and that is the only one on offer. But those two do seem to be accurate.

I always used peakmonsters so far, seemed accurate. At this moment sm says my collection is $416, on peakmonster it is $362. Not a big difference, maybe there is a difference how they look at the prices (listed price, market price or some kind of average).

That could be. And/or one of them is using outdated prices.
Good luck and have fun.

I prefer peakmonsters for the most part because I don't bother to check the discord very often. As for the credits, it may of been when you rented out cards because I know that I have some HIVE sitting around there before they changed the rental system.

I indeed tried renting out a few cards in the past (years ago). Maybe that 0.21 Steem is the result of that.

Good luck and have fun.

I notice this as well but never really bother about it but I tend to prefer peakmonsters which I also use in buying cards every now and then.

Hmm I realised I hardly check the prices of my cards because the fluctuations are just too volatile. As long as I am increasing my CP day by day, I am satisfied. :)

Hello! Not entirely sure how sm-voters_hut computes the collection value, but here are the details for PeakMonsters:

  • Total Value (List Prices): Value of the collection based on current Listing Prices in the Market (might not be the best gauge for cards that have low liquidity given that some sellers can just put extremely high prices in their listings).

  • Total Value (Market Prices): Value of the Collection based on a mix of current bid price and the price that the card has last been sold at.

Will get back to you regarding PeakCredits!

Hello @xplosive! Regarding the PeakCredits questions, here is the answer.

PeakCredits was used for:

  • bids in the "pre" Hive era
  • old rental system (what we usually call v1)

We deprecated it months ago, and now we are planning to completely shut it down and send out all the credits to the corresponding accounts.

Hope this helps, cheers! :)
