Splinterlands - Battle Weekly Challenge - DEFENDER OF TRUTH

Hello Splinterlands players"

Welcome to another weekly post about this amazing Splinterlands challenge.

And here we go.

This week's theme is "DEFENDER OF TRUTH".

Defender of Truth is an epic card, of the life element and the magic class.

It has, at its first level, 1 magic damage, 3 speed, 1 armor, and 3 life, all at a cost of only 4 mana to participate in battle.

Because it has 3 life and 1 armor Defender of Truth is a resistant card that will be able to withstand some attacks from the enemy team, certainly not succumbing quickly.

From its third level on, it acquires the ability "Protect", through which all friendly monsters will receive an additional 2 armor.

This ability is certainly very useful and makes this card even stronger, but for this challenge I am using the card at level 1, that is, unfortunately without the protect ability.

As I do not have the Defender of Truth in my cards it was necessary to rent it, and I spent 2 Dark energy crystal to proceed with the rental of this card for 1 day.

My current battle status is 1,033 rating and I'm in the "Bronze II" league, so those are the characteristics of the Battle Weekly Challenge, and the choice of battle rules was as follows:

image.png

As you can see, the battle was limited to a total of 29 mana cap, and the elements "death" and "dragon" were blocked.

My opponent, in his last 4 battles, used in 2 the water element and in 2 the dragon element, so considering that the dragon element was blocked, there was a high possibility that the water team would be chosen.

The battle also had a "lost legendaries" rule, so legendary cards could not be used.

And so, I decided to take the risk and set up a team focused especially on facing a water team with the following monsters:

Clay Golem as Tank, for possessing the VOID ability and reducing the magic damage suffered.

Luminous Eagle for its reach ability and ability to attack from the second position.

Divine Healer for its "tank heal" ability to recover Clay Golem's life when attacked by opponent monsters.

Enchanted Pixie for its magic damage, since my opponent would probably use a Venari Wavesmith, which grants armor to all its friendly cards.

Defender of Truth for participating in the challenge, and also for its magic damage and

Venari Crystalsmith, because, although with only 1 ranged damage, which would probably reduce only the armor granted from enemy cards, it also has the ability "tank heal" aiming to jointly recover Clay Golem's life with Divine Healer.

So the battle beggins.

Round 1:

As I suspected, my opponent chose the water team composed of the following cards: Spineback Turtle, Peaceful Giant, Medusa, Venari Wavesmith, Elven Mystic, and Ice Pixie.

The first round began with the Defender of Truth attacking the Spineback Turtle.

Next the opponent's Ice Pixie attacked my Clay Golem, and then Luminous Eagle and Enchanted Pixie attacked the opponent's Snipeback Turtle.

After that Elven Mystic, Medusa, and Venari attacked my Clay Golem reducing its life to 4, which was quickly healed by Venari Crystalsmith returning its life to 6.

Venari Crystalsmith then attacked Spineback Turtle reducing its armor.

Divine Healer healed Clay Golem's life returning it to 8.

Finally Spineback Turtle attacked Clay Golem and reduced its life to 7.

At the end of the round I could see that the battle was well on its way to my victory, because even after all the attacks from my enemies, the life of my tank was reduced by only 1 at the end of the round, while his tank (Spineback Turtle) started the round with 2 armor and 6 life and ended with 4 life.

Round 2:

The second round started the same way as the first round, with Spineback Turtle resisting the attacks of my cards until the attack of my Enchanted Pixie, which eventually defeated him, causing Peaceful Giant to go to first position.

At the end of the second round Clay Golem, after being healed by the Divine Healer and Venari Crystalsmith, ended the round with 7 life, so the battle was already headed for my victory.

Round 3:

The third round was similar, with all my cards attacking the Peaceful Giant, which resisted until the last attack of the Clay Golem and only there was defeated, and all my opponent's cards attacked my Clay Golem, which again ended the round with 7 life.

Round 4:
image.png

In the fourth round Medusa was defeated by Venari Crystalsmith's attack, so the opponent's Venari Wavesmith went to the first position, at the end of the round Clay Golem missed his attack.

Round 5:
image.png

In the fifth round I defeated the opponent's Venari Wavesmith and Clay Golem again missed his attack.

Round 6:
image.png

In the sixth round I defeated my opponent.

It was a perfect 😎

By the result of the battle there is no doubt that my choice of cards was right, I wish I had such a favorable result in every battle, since the opponent was not even able to reduce the life of my tank at the end of the battle, and my team finished the exact same way it started even after 6 rounds.

The Defender of Truth proved to be a card of great value, because its magic damage helped a lot to win the battle, because, as I suspected, the Venari Wavesmith was chosen by my opponent and his team had a lot of armor.

So I can say that Defender of Truth is a card that I certainly intend to use in more battles, so I will certainly rent it in other opportunities.

Thank you for reading.

Si tengo algunas dudas, quería saber si en cada juego que pierdo las cartas que son mías, hay alguna posibilidad de perderlas.

In Splinterlands this does not happen.
If you lose the battle you don't lose the cards, you can rest calm about that.
