This Game Gave me a Fatigue

This was a Standard battle, so there were no special modifiers changing how the game worked. At first, I didn’t think much of it because Standard usually feels straightforward. But this one turned into something I really didn’t expect. What started as a simple fight slowly became a battle of endurance and patience. By the end, it wasn’t about damage anymore, it was about survival and the ending was amazing.

This battle was very interesting. I didn't expect my Silverleaf Ranger to deal a lot of damage with the enemy team. As the rounds go on, I got confidence on the combo from Ulundin Overseer and Avina of the Wolf. With Ulundin Overseer having huge 12 health, he heals by 4 every round which is very nice. Eventually, Silverleaf Ranger and Phlegmor died but they were able to reduce the enemy team to only Gobalano Soldier and Executioner Kraan. It's like fate that these two units deal 4 damage and Ulundin Overseer heals for 4 health each round. This went until we get to Fatigue rounds. After 20 rounds, there's this stage where all units get 1 damage at the start of each round and this damage increases by 1 each round. Since my Ulundin Overseer heals, he was able to win the battle even without doing any damage.

Modifier 1: Standard: No modifications to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.

My Lineup:

This lineup is actually unbalanced. The damage is not that high and if my Silverleaf Ranger dies from Sneak, then I almost does no damage to the enemy team. I was thinking of putting Phlegmor in tha last position but I was afraid of Ulundin Overseer dying and making Silverleaf Ranger unable to attack since she has range damage. I wasn't expecting the ending.

Avina of the Wolf: I chose to use the Heal from Avina of the Wolf on Ulundin Overseer because I wanted one massive wall that just wouldn’t fall. The +2 speed option was tempting, but I felt sustain would matter more in a longer fight. Giving Heal to a 12-health unit just felt right. I wanted to build around durability since I don't have strong units that can overwhelm the enemy in this limited mana battle.

Ulundin Overseer: Ulundin Overseer was my one and only tank. With 5 armor and 12 health, he already felt difficult to kill and adding Heal made him even harder to kill. He doesn’t deal damage and I accepted that completely. In this batle, his only job was to stand there and survive since if he dies, everyone dies. Once I saw him healing 4 every round, I started to feel like maybe this wall could actually win me the game by itself and I wasn't wrong.

Phlegmor: Phlegmor was honestly just my best option with the leftover mana. It has damage, has Sneak, and at least adds some value on damaging the backline. I didn’t expect him to carry or anything. I just needed some extra damage and he is all I had. He did his part anyway and that was enough for me.

Silverleaf Ranger: Silverleaf Ranger is my main damage of my team. She has 2 armor, 4 health, 2 speed. Silverleaf Ranger's 2 range damage might be only decent but not because she also has Double Strike allowing her to attack twice a round. The Weary debilitation makes her have a chance to skip her rounds starting round 2. It has 10% chance at first, increasing by 10% per round up to 80%.

I didn’t expect to win through fatigue but that’s exactly what happened. Ulundin Overseer's 4 heal every round was the reason he didn't die until the end and that made all the difference. Phlegmor and Silverleaf Ranger did a lot as well since the enemy team didn't originally have only 4 damage. They chipped away on the enemy lineup slowly until a few of them remains and Ulundin Overseer can pick up from what was left.

Ooh that was a nasty but effective strategy, just going for the fatigue and outlasting your opponent, well done! 😀
