What Makes Gallicus So Expensive? Know About Its Powerful Abilities

In Splinterlands you may have noticed that some monster cards do not have very strong stats or abilities yet they are still very expensive. There are several reasons behind this.
In this post we will explore one such monster card that is quite expensive even though its stats appear very simple. At the same time you may have also noticed that some cards have strong and impressive stats but are still available at a very low price.
There are specific reasons behind these price differences and in this article you will learn why the prices of different cards vary.
One example is the Gallicus monster card which has very basic stats. As you can see it has a mana cost of only 4 which is quite low compared to many other cards. This makes it a flexible option that can be used in low, medium or high mana battles.

Looking at its other stats its health is 5 which is not very high. If it is not positioned properly it can be eliminated early in the battle. It also has no armor meaning it cannot absorb damage before losing health.
In terms of speed it has +1 speed which gives it a slight advantage in attacking order. Gallicus is mainly known for its ranged attack ability. It has a power of 2 allowing it to deal 2 damage per round from a distance.
Overall these stats and abilities seem quite simple. However despite this the card is priced at around $10 even at level 1. This raises the question of why it is so expensive.

There are a couple of reasons for this. One reason could be that sellers set higher asking prices. Another reason is that the card has valuable abilities that may not be obvious at first glance.
For players who cannot afford to buy the card renting is an option. You can rent this card for around 10 DEC per day which is helpful for new players who do not want to invest heavily in purchasing cards.
The main factor that makes this card expensive is its special abilities. One of the most important abilities is Taunt which is quite rare among monster cards. This ability forces enemy units to target this monster drawing attacks away from other allied units..
However it does not affect abilities like Reach, Scattershot or certain attacks from the first position.
At level 2 the card gains the Shield ability which reduces incoming damage by 50% making it more durable.

At level 3 it gains another ability that provides plus one maximum health to all allied units strengthening the entire team.
At level 4 it gains Headwinds which reduces the ranged attack power of all enemy units by 1.
One of the main reasons this card is expensive is because of its Taunt ability. Also there is lesser card available in the market which increases its demand. As a result sellers tend to list it at higher prices.

What do you think about this monster card? Do you think it is worth such a high price? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
