Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge with Loan Boatman.

Welcome to my blog where I'll share my winning match with Loan Boatman in splinterlands. And with this post; I'm going to join SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! Loan Boatman.

THEME: LONE BOATMAN
Edition: UNTAMED
Rarity: COMMON
Element: LIFE
ATTACK: RANGED
ABILITIES: Snipe at level 1; Repair at level 5; Shatter at level 10

Doesn't he look like the Wolverine from X-Men? Or is he supposed to be someone like Sinbad? He seems more like a crossbreed of wolverine and Sinbad to me, LOL. Well, this monster who looks exactly like a man with a boat... is a monster of life splinter from the untamed edition and he belongs to common rarity. Usually, I don't use it that often cause I don't think a monster with only 3 health who needs 5 mana deserves to be on the battlefield. So I kinda used it again after a long time to join the latest splinterlands weekly battle challenge.

My Loan Boatman is in level 1 with 2 ranged attacks, 2 speeds, 1 shield, 3 health with the "Snipe" ability and It needs 5 mana to play.

  3. Tell us about your lineup. Explain why you put each card in that position and why Loan Boatman is a good fit for the ruleset.
    • So, to explain my lineup... Why did I use the cards I did? And why in that order?
Yeah about that... In this match; I've played with the life splinter.
  4. Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
    • Yeah, my strategy worked out perfectly and I'll try to use similar helpful monsters next time if I need to.
  5. Share your post to some OTHER Social Media site.
    • I'm going to share this post with the #splinterlands hashtag on Twitter after publishing this post.

A Brief Info About The Match

The battles mana cap was 14 with the "Standard" rule where I've used the life splinter and my opponent also used the life splinter against me.

My Lineup.

image.png

I had my Clay Golem in level 1, Furious Chicken in level 1 & Loan Boatman in level 1.

And my opponent had his/her cards as Silvershield Paladin in level 1, Grumpy Dwarf in level 1 & Cocatrice in level 1.

Let me talk about monsters that I used in this battle.

No 01: CLAY GOLEM (Rare Life Monster)

This is the monster that I tried to use in every battle I used to play with the life splinter but then I've found out that Silvershiled Paladin could do better than this monster at the front position so I started using Silvershield Paladin instead of Clay Golem. Clay Golem reminds me of the Sandman of Spider-Man 3 as it looks exactly like that supervillain. Now here I'm using this monster again after a very long time and this time, this monster didn't let me down that easily.

My CLAY GOLEM is in level 1 with 3 melee attacks, 1 speed, 7 health with "Void" ability and it needs 6 mana.

No 02: Furious Chicken (Rare Neutral Monster)

This is the card that I use when there's a slot left but no mana left. I mean its service is great for free I suppose. Right now... I can't imagine playing a match without this card.
It's like the chicken that lays the golden egg. It provides great support with its counterattack. With 0 mana... it's just amazing.

My Furious Chicken is in level 1 with 1 speed, 1 health and It needs 0 mana to play.

No 03: Loan Boatman (COMMON Life Monster)

Doesn't he look like the Wolverine from X-Men? Or is he supposed to be someone like Sinbad? He seems more like a crossbreed of wolverine and Sinbad to me, LOL. Well, this monster who looks exactly like a man with a boat... is a monster of life splinter from the untamed edition and he belongs to common rarity. • In my personal opinion... Loan Boatman is a nice fit for the ruleset.

For the special ability of my opponent's summoner, all their monsters got +1 shield each. And for the special ability of my summoner, all of my monsters got +1 health each. Then... my Loan Boatman started the battle with its first attack on the Silvershield Paladin of my opponent team and successfully killed one of its shields among 2. Although my opponent team had a monster that had a bigger speed than my Loan Boatman, my monster attacked first cause the most speed holder from both teams was unable to attack from that position as it's a melee attacker and staying so far from the front position. Then Silvershield Paladin and then Grumpy Dwarf of my opponent team kept attacking my Clay Golem and successfully killed some health of my Clay Golem. Then my Clay Golem attacked for the first time and it missed its target the first time as the target had the "Shield" ability which helps the ability holder to reduce damage from melee and ranged attacks.

Then it was time for the following round where my Loan Boatman attacked and killed the last shield of the Silvershield Paladin of my opponent and then the same kinda thing happened like it did at the previous round just the difference was that my Clay Golem didn't miss its target this time. Furious Chicken of my team and Cocatrice of my opponent team seemed to play the role of spectators.

My team was lucky that my Clay Golem didn't miss the next target as well on the Silvershield Paladin of my opponent otherwise my team might lose the battle in a close shot. So after the Silvershield Paladin of my opponent died, the Grumpy Dwarf took over its position and it got killed as well by my Clay Golem in a very short time after it came to that position. It seemed like the front position attracted the Grumpy Dwarf to kill it.

The Cocatrice of my opponent team which was unable to attack a bit earlier... came to the first position and did the first thing which was killing my Clay Golem. Then my Loan Boatman took a big shot with the rope that was on his hand and killed the last monster (Cocatrice) of my opponent team while my Furious Chicken came forward to sacrifice itself.

The battle got finished in round 6 while my team still had two monsters alive. It was indeed a fantastic battle that my team fought.
