Are you invested in Land?

Are you invested in Land?

Land 1.75 up was dropped on March 18, 2025. It's been 16 days since then, and as this was a major update, people are still adjusting to the changes. I published the overall card staked PP graph first on this post. The data presented on that plot is not 10 days old, and there is significant change in the pattern how resources are distributed with respect to card PP. I am publishing the same plot today to compare so that we can quantitatively understand the change.

Observations

You may think that group behavior of people are difficult to predict and analyze over large set of data; but it is not true. Sometimes it is very clear.

  • Overall Raw and Boosted PP both increased
  • Meaning people staked more cards and boosted their production with totem or naturally
  • Each of the natural resources got a boost
  • Meaning people turned on more plots or put higher PP cards on those plots
  • SPS and Research got a 'downgrade'; about 12%-15% lower PP were put on those plots

image.png

You may say that this is only 1% overall boost in interest, but that translates to about 6.1M PP. For the record, my main account currently hold 8M PP. So you got about 75% of a whale in-game cumulatively. I am going to take that as a small win.

Where do we go from here

Our handy resource website show, all natural resources are trading below their theoretical value. This is no surprise to me. As, so far there is no utility of land. We know for a fact, if you give people anything new in this environment, people will just sell, and they did. So the price is down.

There is hope that with Conclave Arcana launch, there will be new utility to land. Until that hope is realized with an announcement, I do not see any price increase of any of these resources. Since my land position is heavily unbalanced, I will be taking this opportunity to load up on resources as I see fit. I have already stocked about 1 year worth of grain. I like for all the resources to come down in price, so that I can load up my truck.

sell, sell, sell!

I read your comment on someone else's post saying now is the time to accumulate and not worry about ROI.

So this is what you meant: stocking up on resources. Very interesting!

Yes I bought 75 million grains.

Looking to buy more

I'm really quite glad I didn't buy more lands than the seven I hold. I think the resource creep would have been horrible and I would be scrambling now. There is no way I would have been able to sustain it even with posting and curating.

Ha ha ha.

It’s only a game. I like it and I play it. I am not worried even a tiny bit on investment losses

That's probably a healthy way to look at it.

I don't have any land. I have only 11637 HP(finally) , 1+k HBD, 28,774. SPS and a few powerful splinterlands cards.

There is hope that with Conclave Arcana launch

When is the launch supposed to happen?

True, the functionality is still there, but it's close to a week with no orders?

If you want to rent just place an order at about 7%. You will be filled before your page automatically refreshes:)

How do I know? Because I am waiting with an offer on the other side :)

We are just incredibly efficient

Have you heard of “dark pool”?

It is dark because your order never sees the light of the day :)

I'm not wanting to rent sps to me, I want to rent it out to someone else.
It seems that your efficiency has pushed me out of the market?

I am getting completely confused. SPS market doesn't have bid-ask like regular market. So there is no way to offer a trade, you can only bid a trade. So people have chosen secondary markets where bid-ask is offered.

XBOT rental market is one such market. It is free. That is where people are renting SPS from.

So you don't want to rent, you want to rent it out. Please go here:

https://xbot.app/spsmarket

There are numerous active listings.

Nobody is pushing you out of the market :)

Why do you always assume foul play and the worst outcome. People are no out there to get you. Well not everyone, anyways.

PS. Looks like there is a small fee

Yes, I have been as clear as I can, I want to rent out some sps and that seems to have come to an end.

Intentional, or not, I am out of the market if I have to give up an email, not interested in any more accounts on web2 and their penchant to sell my data without compensation to me.
I only turned on javascript because my greed overcame my obstinacy.

Let's see this from my perspective.

I have used peakmonsters to rent out my sps since that feature went live.
Peakmonsters has not had an order on offer for a week.
I ask someone that should know what is happening.
You got the interpretation of what I was asking backwards.
Not unusual, I do it all the time in spanish.

You tell me about this 'efficiency' that keeps orders from becoming visible because some bot sucks up all the bids before I get to see them.

I see that I need to find something else to do with my sps.
Thanks for clarifying that.

As for worrying about folks 'being out to get me', I typically don't sweat that until they get within shotgun range, then I tend to take careful note of what folks are doing.
Otherwise, the depth of my apathy is typically overwhelming.

So, my conclusion is that I won't be renting sps anymore.
Thanks for helping me determine that conclusion.

No problem.

Was trying to help.

Yes it does require an email. Two things:

  1. It’s not hard to look up someone's email but at the same time one can have and open numerous emails and people often have many throwaway emails. It’s really no big deal

  2. Rent your SPS or not is your choice. How you will do it is also your choice. People will always go for most efficiency and path of least resistance. One of the main things about web3 is no to minimal handholding. Catch up or be left behind: isn’t that what they say?

Yes it does require an email.

Why not keychain?

Was trying to help.

The market is always right.

Perhaps @peakmonsters will fire back with some comparable competition?
With the increase in rents on cards it becomes less of an imperative to gain an extra 7% on a token already getting a passive ~12%.
It will be my luck to miss it when/if the orders come back from lack of checking.

I, on the other hand, just bought a new card to place on my quarry :-D Stone is still the most valuable of the Resources! Actually writing a little post about that at the moment, to drop tomorrow :-)

Do you think that SPS mining on land will be worth it? Or is it just too expensive now?

Right now SPS mining on land is not worth it. But in future it might be
