Can anyone share a land utilization google spreadsheet with me?
I asked this question this morning, and I am still waiting for a solution. Trouble is land utilization is around the corner, and this is Sunday, which is the day I usually feel guilty about not doing the tasks I should be doing. This is on top of the fact that I have no shortage of home related tasks that I am behind. I am not going to give you that list because it is embarassingly long and I am awfully behind. With that said, it is also a fact that I am behind on planning for land.
So I started on a spreadsheet and after 2 hours of copy-paste, manipulation between Peakmonster's website and Land Whitepaper, I am about to give up with a realization that I am going to need a bigger and more complex spreadsheet!
The Problem
There are many ways to skin a cat. Land utilization is a classic example of that. I started with something very simple. Things that I understand. SPS Mining.
Before any buildings are built or any production can start, land plots need to first be cleared. Clearing the land is a construction project that the worker cards assigned to the land plot will perform just like building construction and upgrades will be in phase 2. Plots with Castles or Keeps will not need to be cleared, and production can begin right away on these plots.
So I thought, earning SPS is something that I understand. It is easy and effective, and I need SPS. So I thought I am going to figure out the simplest way I can clear my occupied plots first, so that I can start mining/collecting some SPS.
Turns out, occupied plots sports some of the highest PP requirement to clear. Fine! First I have to find out how many occupied plots I have. Peakmonsters to the rescue:
If you follow the arrows in this order, it is easy to download a .csv text file:

- Occupied radio button
- Looks like I have 46 occupied land deeds
- Click that download button
You get the idea. Looks like I will need 43,110 time crystals to clear my occupied plots. 900, 990, and 1260 for Common, Rare and Epic Occupied Plots respectively. Phew! Oh, I don't have any legendary occupied plot!
Instead of reducing the amount of time that construction takes (which is very variable depending on the worker cards used), each Time Crystal token will provide 10K PP towards a construction project. In phase 1.5 the only available construction project will be clearing the land. Clearing a Common rarity natural land plot will take 1.5M PP in total, so 150 Time Crystal tokens may be spent to complete it immediately. No worker cards, staked DEC, or Grain will be needed if Time Crystals are used to complete the construction.

I have 77,250 time crystals. This is the easiest way I will get this job done on day1 of land 1.5 release!
Next
Magical land is a bit more extensive, but similar. I have 147 Magical Land Plots. If I go the time crystal route, it will cost me 70,380 time crystals. Well, ....shit!
I don't have that many!
So I need (43110+70380) = 113,490. Therefore, I am short (111490-77250) = 34,240. Phew! So, either I spent 3.4M additional DEC, as time crystals are 100 DEC each, or I go the slow route of doing it by staking cards!
Man! for that I will definitely need a bigger spreadsheet!

Shit what is this time crystals 😂 I never knew about that 😂 perhaps I should rethink about buying some land 😂

So if I buy a piece of land now I don't have to worry about it or what?

I've seen a few more detailed sheets floating around the YGG group. I will try to get my hands on one of them to help out. I have also been slacking majorly to properly plan for land, but I only have 5 plots, not regions and tracts like you.
Of those 5 plots, one is rare and none are "special," so despite the 5 runi I have for my 5 plots, I won't get any bonuses for magic or occupied. Oh well, luck of the draw. Our lucky guildmate from Estonia, Greddy, got a keep in one of his 4 plots -- now that was a lucky survey!
I've been considering expanding my land holdings as the prices begin to drop, but I decided that I don't want plots in different regions if I can avoid it. So maybe if our guildmates decide to sell some more plots in a group I would consider to buy, but so far Ive only seen people selling commons and they are not 5 in a row consecutively. Maybe if I could get another 5 consecutive plots somewhere else I would consider it for one of my alt accounts outside of the KoG regions. However, I'm definitely more of a competitive strategy guy than an asset allocation guy, so I'm not even sure how much patience I will have for land when it finally comes time to start farming.
