Hi folks, I hope you're doing great with your Christmas and using your time off to enjoy your family and - of course - to play some Splinterlands.
Luckily guys from Splinterlands found some time to launch the new Weekly Challenge, this time the card the chose is the Death Elemental. A card that to be honest, i don't use that much.
Death is probably my favorite Splinter: I love the combination of good tanks and great backup archers and magic. That being said, I prefer playing other cards rather than Death Elemental: 3 mana to evoke is quite much for a card that does only one damage to enemy's backup card, especially if you don't use other card with snipe ability to support it.

Still, I'm happy I could find a way to use the Death Elemental and learning a little bit how to use it.

DEATH ELEMENTAL

#Edition: UNTAMED

#Rarity: RARE
#Element: DEATH
#ATTACK: MAGIC
#ABILITIES: Snipe at level 1; Silence at level 4; Weaken at level 8

Death is one of the elemental forces of nature, which can be summoned in its raw form by a skilled Dark Eternal summoner. The dark and whispy energetic form is a terrifying force in battle. The Lord of Darkness refuses to call Death Elementals by their rightful name, insisting that theirs is not a magic of death, but life.

I thought a good way to use the Death Elemental was givig him the support of the right Summoner, that's why I choose Delwin Dragonscale to boost the magic of my team. Basically my idea was to have a good tank with shield ability supported by the Halfling Alchemist (to reduce the meele attack of opponent tank). I used Phantasm as a backup tank, so I could be sure I was able to protect the most dangerous part of my team. Boosted by Summoners, here are Ancient Lich (with growing health due to to his Life Leach Ability), Fallen Specter (very cheap evoking cost) and our buddy Death Elemental.

My opponent also used the Death Elemental with a Death Splinter. My strategy at the end worked out pretty good, and I was able to win this one quite easily. Death Elemental played quite good at the end, weakening opponent's most powerful card, Spirit Miner
