I folks, I've been really busy at work in the last two weeks and I couldn't find much time to enjoy the wonderful game that is Splinterlands and the amazing community of HIVE! I'm just glad to be back for another Weekly Challenge, this time with mister Usefulness itself, Furious Chicken.

I cannot think of a card that I've seen more played than this, and that's for a very simple reason: it's the only card in the entire game that you can play without mana cost! It's neutral, and starting from level 3 it also has melee attack: it just fit every battle, isn't it?

When thinking about how you can use it in battles, things start getting really creative: you can use it as a sacrificial lamb to protect you second line from the first attack, or you can use it at the end of your line to protect the last card from sneak attack. Or you can even use it in the first position, to slow your enemy's attacks.

The chickens of the Splinterlands have had enough. For too long they have been kept in cages and pens. For too many generations their eggs have been made into omelettes, their breasts and thighs into nuggets, and their most pristine feathers into rather tacky jewelry. Under the brave leadership of a great hero known only as The Alpha Chicken, all chicken-kind is finally rising up against their oppressors. This uprising, all across the Splinterlands, is known as the Cluckening.

FURIOUS CHICKEN AS AN INVESTMENT

Have I mentioned that furious chicken is one the most played card in the entire game? This aspect has consequences on its price, of course. I remember Furious Chicken one the very first card I bought in the game. At the time - July 2020 - it was worth 0.09$ at level 1. Now it worth around 0.60 $ at level 1, with a ROY of 600%. Not bad isn't it?

If you look at the average price of the card in the last weeks, you'll notice that the price is slowly growing. I wouldn't say Furious Chicken is the most sexy card in the game, but its undoubted utility makes it a quite safe investment.

Choosing one battle to showcase how to use Furious Chicken was quite hard: too many options. I literally use it in every battle with mana cap between 12 and 24-25. At the end I decide to show this really low mana cap battle to show the chicken true nature: be a total sacrificial lamb!

In this battle I went full magic and my only strategy was to make sure my magic cards at the end of backup line could last enough to kill enemy's monsters. So i used every card with at least a little life at the beginning, starting with our man Furious Chicken.
It was followed by Kelp Initiate, great with life equal to 6, an Albatross, and then two cards with magic: Ice Pixie and Coral Wraith

My strategy turned out to work pretty good, and I was able to win this one pretty easily. Fun fact: my enemy would have gained so much by using Furious Chicken in his lineup ;)
