Splinter Statistics Update: Buy Missing CC, Multi Account & Authentication Improvements

Welcome back Splinterfam!

Today we have a somewhat scattered release for the Splinter Statistics site. πŸ˜…

It started yesterday with one question about Buy Missing CC, followed by a few things I forgot to mention in my previous post, and then this morning I started working on some smaller changes that were bugging me.

So let's go through everything!

Building these tools takes a lot of time and also infra cost.

I want to keep everything free so if you want to support:

Buy Missing CC & Cross Foil Progress

Yesterday @doombot75 reached out to me with a question about the Buy Missing CC page.

Basically, why was the estimated price to reach the next bracket sometimes so high?

And I mean very high. πŸ˜…

After digging around a bit, we found the reason.
It had to do with the current Cross Foil Progress settings. When Cross Foil Progress was enabled and multiple foils were selected in the card filters, the page could pick one of those foils for a missing card.

Unfortunately, that could mean picking Gold Foil or another premium foil instead of Regular Foil.

That obviously makes quite a difference when estimating how much it would cost to reach the next bracket!

Once we knew what was happening, the fix was pretty simple. Missing cards now prioritize the cheapest selected foil, with Regular Foil first when it is available.

Thanks again @doombot75 for noticing and reporting it!

After:

While working on this page I also made two smaller visual changes.

The foil letters have been replaced with the actual foil images, and I added the card Role to the Buy Missing CC page.

Small changes, but I think they make the page a little easier to read.

Note: these check boxes Cross-Foil Progress Highest Level Only have great impact also when select a certain bracket.
Small example:

in this case i have selected `below bracket` and `in bracket` with gold and regular foil selected you might think you have to upgrade that one....

Here you can see that i already own a `max for bracket` regular foil

So in this case i then need to select `Cross-Foil Progress` and the `Highest Level Only` to see that i do not need to buy it

Battle SPS In The Overview

On this topic of things I forgot to mention... πŸ˜…
I also had a small request from @keeegs to add Battle SPS to the top overview.

image.png

It is now also shown directly in the top overview, making it much easier to quickly see how much SPS your battles are earning.

The information was already available in the Ranked Daily Progress section, but you had to know where to look for it.

Thanks @keeegs for the suggestion!

Land Harvest In The Multi Account Dashboard

Then we have something I definitely forgot to mention in my previous post. πŸ˜‚

This was a small request from @warrentrx and something I never really thought about myself because I only have one account with land.

For players managing land across multiple accounts, however, it makes a lot of sense.

The Multi Account Dashboard can now show the oldest harvest date for every account at once.

image.png

This should make it much easier to quickly spot which account needs some land attention without checking every account separately.

You can also click it to get more information about the harvest status for each individual region.

image.png

And while taking the screenshot I noticed that I still show both Age and Status, which basically tell you the same thing.
Oops...
Something for the next update. πŸ˜‚

Authentication Flow Cleanup

Then we get to what I actually started working on this morning.

I wanted to make a few smaller changes to the Multi Account Dashboard because there were some things that were bugging me.

Somehow that ended with me redesigning a good part of the authentication flow. πŸ˜‚

Several sections in the dashboard require an authenticated SPL token, including:

  • Daily Progress
  • Land Harvest
  • Brawl Fray Selection
  • Reward History

Previously these sections did not all handle an expired or invalid token in the same way.

One might show an error, another might stay blank, while another could make a request that was already guaranteed to fail.

That has now been cleaned up.

The dashboard checks whether the token is still usable before making authenticated requests. When an account needs to be authenticated again, the dashboard now shows one consistent notice with a Re-authenticate button.

Individual sections affected by it will also indicate that authentication is required instead of showing a generic error.

Screenshot 2026-08-28 at 10.58.00.png

Overall, nothing very exciting visually, but the dashboard should behave much more consistently when authentication expires.

Authentication During Background Updates

There was another authentication issue hiding a bit deeper.
The site already checked for expired tokens before starting a background update cycle.
But what happens when a token expires or gets revoked during that cycle?
Previously the worker could keep trying authenticated requests that were never going to succeed.
Not exactly the most productive use of server resources. πŸ˜…

This has now been improved as well.

When the worker receives an authentication failure, it stops trying the remaining authenticated requests for that account and marks the account as requiring authentication.

The next cycle will skip that account until it has been authenticated again.
Once you re-authenticate, the account is cleared and automatically queued again.

I also fixed an issue where a completely failed run could still update some internal timestamps. This could cause the worker to think everything had been processed successfully and wait another 24 hours before trying again.

That should no longer happen.

Balance History

Finally, I made some improvements to Balance History.

You no longer need to press the Load button. The history is loaded automatically when you open it.

More importantly, older seasons should now load much faster.

Instead of retrieving older season information from the Splinterlands API every time, that information is now retrieved from the Splinter Statistics database.

Older seasons are also sorted descending now, so the most recent season appears first.

That's It For This One

What started with a question from @doombot75 about some very expensive missing cards turned into another nice collection of fixes and improvements across the site.

The Buy Missing CC estimates should be much more sensible with Cross Foil Progress now, the Multi Account Dashboard has some useful additions, Balance History is faster, and authentication handling behind the scenes should be a lot more reliable.

Thanks again to @doombot75, @keeegs and @warrentrx for the reports and suggestions.

As always, if you notice something strange or have an idea that could make the site better, let me know.

Apparently even a small question can result in me redesigning half a flow. πŸ˜‚

That’s a lot of improvements packed into one update. Those little background issues can be really annoying when they happen, so it’s good to see them cleaned up. And the Buy Missing CC fix is definitely useful too.

Thanks for the kind words! πŸ™ Your name isn't very familiar to me.
Are you new to Splinterlands?

If so, what part of the game have you been playing most so far? Anything you're really enjoying, or still trying to figure out? πŸ™‚

(Edited)

Oh yes, I think I'm pretty new cuz it's been only a month. I've been around but not that much in the comment section. Your post grabbed my attention today. πŸ˜€

I'm still figuring out this game and trying to study it.

looking good. i admit to being a bit of a sucker for stats... one of the other lovely hive-ians gave me a link for an awesome stats thing that shows a hive curation score and i love checking that one now too... lol..

I do like looking at all my land stats. watching the grain come in lol... lol balancing resources across all my regions is a bit tricky and i had a few rentals that expired... (slight swearing under breath as i have not yet gone back and re-carded the lands... grr...)

what i want now is tool that shows how often your own cards are used? you know like on peakmonsters where it shows if they were last used in the last 2 days or what have you. and you CAN see further back in the main site... but not "number of times used over last two weeks per say"

We just got a massive solar put in and I love checking that one too..

Thanks again for pretty tools. they are appreciated

Guilty of that big time myself πŸ˜‚ I can stare at stats way longer than I probably should.

awesome stats thing that shows a hive curation score

Would love to know which one! I built a small Hive stats website myself in the past called BeeBalanced 😍

what i want now is tool that shows how often your own cards are used?

Unfortunately, the Splinterlands API only gives back the last played date. I do have something like this in my statistics site, but currently only when you run it locally on your own machine. Storing all that history for everyone would make the disk usage grow pretty rapidly πŸ˜…

For example, I can see:
My most used units in the last 7 days in wild

image.png

And:
My most used units of all time in wild

image.png

And lots of more stats... but in all honesty not sure if i will keep and remain supporting this because its only in offline more (running on your machine)

image.png

It's not really for everyone to set up though, as you need a little Docker knowledge to run it yourself... but it's pretty easy to learn if you ask me πŸ˜‚

And thanks again for the kind words about the tools! Always nice to hear they're being used and appreciated πŸ™

Yes i figured as much with the cards thing, its just annoying.. lol..

https://mantecurated.3speak.tv/beaker007

this was the site. you just put in the persons user name and it shows you if they vote for themselves, how many people they curate and things like that. its interesting if you look someone up and all they do is vote the same small number of accounts everyday. Also good to see what the good curators vote for too.

its just another interesting tool. Somehow i still have like 4 accounts still on an auto vote somehow. and i need to find where and fix it.. lol. I turned on some autovote while i was overseas for a couple of weeks and didn't turn it off properly. im much more anti vote-bot these days. preferring my own spidey senses to vote posts rather than chasing max hive return.

Deeplurker is one of my fav cards. I love my Kelya water team!

Sounds like its another tool for another day. Something to keep in mind. so many developments at the moment its hard to keep up.

Keep up the good land site work!
