Anti Magic Life Splinter Lineup
This time, I'll share with you how i counter the water splinter lineups focused on dealing magic damage. This guide is focused on the life deck as well as lower level leagues and level 1 cards.
Before we begin
The last guide i shared focuses of how to defeat water decks using earth splinters, you can read all about it here: https://hive.blog/hive-13323/@beerbod/how-to-defeat-djinn-oshannus-with-just-common-and-rare-cards
Now to start, expect your enemy to use Venari Wavesmith.
This card is a favorite staple of water deck users, it gives 2 armor across all friendly units making it a very cost efficient card to use. Due to the protect skill, first round physical ranged and melee attacks are completely negated.
Core Card - Clay Golem
This card will be your primary tank. It's void ability allows it to absorb incoming magic damage, it's high health makes it sustainable and with 3 melee attack, can one hit many water splinters. One downside of using this card is it's low speed.
Summoner - Mother Khala
Since you will be dealing with magic damage primarily, you won't be needing armor. This summoner gives plus 1 health across all your ally monsters. Making your units tankier.
Support Card - Divine Healer
This unit sustains your first position card and help it survive more rounds than it normally would. The tank heal ability restores health each round. And for just 3 mana cost, this card should be part of any life splinter deck.
Support Card 2 - Venari Cyrstalsmith
Similar to the divine healer - this card will ensure survivability of your Clay Golem, the reason you need a secondary healer is that water splinters deals a lot of magic damage as they are most likely to use Alaric Stormbriger. While this card might cost 4 mana to summon, remember that it is a ranged creature so aside from supporting, it also deals damage each and every round.
Up next we will be analyzing one of my matches where i've used this life splinter anti magic lineup. But before we do let me just inform you that you can also play to earn in splinterlands by signing up and buying a spellbook. You can use my referral code here: https://splinterlands.com?ref=beerbod
Battle Analysis
Round 1
As expected, enemy used venari wavesmith to up his armor and protect his lineup from physical attacks. He also placed an off tank on second position to prevent his magic cards moving up immediately once his tank is down. However i heavily countered this as i have 2 monsters with sneak attacks
Round 2
Notice that the ruleset of this match is set at reverse speed. This is a strong ruleset to take advantage of. The clay golem naturally benefits from this. But i selected cards like the sandworm and herbalist that only has 1 speed and with reverse speed will truly have an advantage.
Round 3
By the start of round 3 - my tank is still standing strong. I already ellimited enemies first primary tank. And also i of his offensive magic monsters in the backline. My clay glolem has been absorbing all attacks but my support healers does a great job of sustaining hp. From this point on it will only be easier.
Round 4
Another one of his magic cards ice pixies has been eliminated from play. I haven't lost any card up to this point. Let's see if it will be a perfect match for me.
Round 5
Perfect match. All enemy monsters has been removed from play and my lineup is still solidly intact. This life splinterlineup with the reverse speed ruleset is definitely a nightmare for water splinters to deal with.
Great that you do these tutorials
