I need to watch this again. I was so tired when we were recording, I have almost no recollection of events :)

No need to watch it, we both flogged you in battles 😎

@misterrogers and I were recently discussing coming on together. We never decided on a topic to discuss, though.
I blame it, at least in part, on my uncanny ability to smoke offensive quantities of weed.

Don't let that stop you, we never know what we're going to talk about either, we just wing it each week 😎

Congrats to everyone who won something cool lately! I got a GF Astral bastard, too!

There are a few things I wanted to touch on, in no particular order, but before that I'm gonna skip to the discussion you guys were having toward the end about rulesets and how 3 at a time might be a bit much in lower leagues. I totally agree, but I didn't think one moved into single rule changes until silver so I presumed triple sets were for higher leagues by default. Having said that, I think we could go more complex, but making champion league play dual summoners and twice as many monsters. It would at least be a badass tournament format. In fact, I wonder if anyone is considering new methods of play that would allow us to use multiple summoners and monsters to build out bigger longer battles. Kind of like ranked play but on ongoing battle over an entire season you can switch x number of cards out per day.

Wtf? I didn't sit down to write that. Haven't even really thought about it yet. It's probably dumb. Nevermind that part.

Oh, I remember a thing I was gonna say regarding the Shin Lo you were talking about. You can probably get a lot more out of it in the next bull.

Also, fist bump to @mattclarke for his insight on Possibilius. I got a reg foil in a reward chest and paid $11 each to max it out within a day of two for the same reasons alluded to. At the time of writing it's worth over $175, but I wouldn't sell it for twice that.

I'm getting a lot of use out of beta cards I never really got any use out of before, even back when that was all there were. Frozen soldier and Naga Warrior spring to mind. Both are pretty bad ass in the right circumstances but Possibilius makes them shine especially in low'ish mana matches that tend to draw out all the 3 mana sneak attackers. Naga can hold the back line pretty well. Case in point regarding FS...

He's also brought new life to back to basics matches for me. Lol, broken armor.

I had a match recently that was a spot on description of the FS/NW combo but it's buried too deep in my battle chain to dig out.

Land upgrades! Matt pointed out something I started thinking of a long time ago, which is whether or not I'd have the resources to maximize all my land out of the gate or if I would have to rent some of it out to earn upgrades for my premium stuff. I imagine it'll be the latter and it'll take me years to finally get everything producing at max output.

Also, regarding the plots of land you claimed next to a port... that seems like it would be a premium piece of land, but it also seems like it might come with extra expenses to ensure the region has a state of the art port. That's kind of a sore point I have for the game. I never know how deep I'm getting in and how long it will take to sort my way through it when things start coming together and I can start sorting it out. I thought land would be a revenue stream by now... either from selling minted resources or using them to FINALLY GET THE FUCK OUT OF DIAMOND AGAIN... but, nope on both counts for like 5 more years or whatever.

Arenas! I do like the idea of ranked battles having a particular locations, but @giotrix mentioned clans, which isn't a thing yet, but should be and they should come with villages and shops where we can make food that gives us a bonus for a day, like +1 to mana cap or health or whatever. That's-a good-a !PIZZA... and a pie I'd like to have a finger in 😜

Soul bound reward cards... I'd hate them if it wasn't for the fact that we can get multiples in a single chest and potions apply. The first one I got came with enough copies in a single chest to level it up to level 2, so I think I won't mind having to play to get them. I just don't want another situation like gladiators that count on luck to be able to significantly progress the cards I like. I'd appreciate a function that lets us trade gladiators with equal burn value or something that lets me actually build my collection instead of just store whatever falls into it...

I can't remember what else I wanted to touch on, but If I do while re-watching I'll amend or start anew. Talk to you guys later!

Great comment. I particularly enjoyed the parts about how insightful and wise I am.
Talking Beta cards that shine with Possibilus, this little lady is some real cheap Inspire

image.png

When all melee can hit from second spot AND often get a second hit from trample, Inspire is the gift that keeps on giving.

(by cheap, I mean 3 mana. She's not cheap to buy)

I have her at level 5 so I barely get inspire. I may have said it before, but it warrants repeating that I'm a level snob. With a few exceptions I feel like I'm showing up half naked if my team isn't all max cards, so I rarely use her, but you may have just helped me get over that, because now I can't wait to throw her in the fray with pirate captain and just totally wreck some poor bastard. Thanks, man.

Me too :)
I started combining cyclops to next level, then realised I wanted him at 1 speed for Reverse Speed rulesets.

Pirate Captain is one I tend to overlook, mostly because I only think to play snipers in groups.

I kept mine at level 6, too, for the same reason.
And I never use Pirate captain, either, but I've never tried it in conjunction with pixie and Possibilius before. He's another I never got to level all the way, but I got him up high enough to inspire.

These days you almost have to play sneak and snipe in groups. It's one of the reasons I think we need more slots to play cards in. Check this out. I came up with it earlier tonight, I think.

Question 1:
How does everyone feel about these thoughts on restructuring the implementation of rule sets/rules of engagement.

Novice and bronze remain standard.
Silver gets 1 rule set and 1 additional monster.
Gold gets 2 rules sets and 2 additional monsters.
Diamond gets 3 rulesets and +3 monsters.
Champion gets a total of 10 monsters and dual summoners (same splinter of course).
So many more options seems to warrant a larger team size.

Question 2:
Extended campaigns?
How about a season long battle that requires x guild members to contribute a team once per day... i.e., Water War Wednesday, Fire Fight Friday, or Black Sabbath Death Match (the most badass imo, etc.)? Battles would still follow the same rules (melee/close range in front, etc.), but would line up in a chess-like format with participating guild members on the same side of the line. Teams only attack the team directly across from them until all are eliminated, then they start at the front of the next closest line.

Question 3:
What if the Amplify ability could stack?

Then this happened, too, so why not drop it along with...
And while I'm here... a few new ability suggestions came to mind earlier...

  1. Confusion- Target have a % chance to attack a random target on either team.
  2. Betrayal- Target has a % chance to attack a team mate.
  3. Lunacy- Target has a % chance to try to attack itself (dodge and blind still apply).

and another thing about Possibilius is that not picking all the melee opportunists is damn near an impossibilus... I'll see myself out...
