Reaching Gold 3 in Splinterlands with A rented card
Good Afternoon all.
today I hit A special milestone on #splinterlands
I hit gold 3 in the season for the first time since the introduction of the Power update months ago.
I normally finish in silver 1 as I only have 80k Power and not enough to get to gold.
How did I get to gold?
Good Question.
I decided to take A look at the rental market, something I have not done at all. I found that the most expensive cards in the game only cost around 100-200 DEC a day and I decided to rent one for 24 hours for the power alone, no plans to really actually use the card.
I rented this card surprisingly someone had it listed way cheaper than what everyone else listed it at and I paid around 100ish dec for the 24 hours and it gave me so much power that it gave me access to gold 3 league.
By the time I had climbed to gold I had earned not only the DEC paid to rent the card but more dec so in reality, it cost me nothing and I am gaining from it. I also completed my daily in gold as well.
Got even more dec from the daily which was also great and if I wanted to could probably rent A couple more high power cards tonight and possibly climb further.
Less than 24 hours to go in this season and by far since the power update this has been my best season.

Hmm I may have to look at renting some cards. I donno. I might just buy a ton of DEC go on the market and buy a ton of cards rather than getting packs like I have been doing. Been getting terrible luck recently.

yeah my pack luck has always sucked im either buying DICE as I get more luck from them of donating my dec to the guild I don't really buy cards off the market except the very cheap ones

Think I'm going to focus on at least getting some summoners to level 3.
Nice job! I just threw some of my cards out on the rental market too. Nothing fancy, but I just wanted to try it out and see how things went. Hopefully someone will pick them up and start earning me a little more DEC each day!

Sweet rewards mate! May I ask, do you compete in Silver league with leveled up summoners and monsters or are you using level 1 for everything? Thanks!
I have levelled up summoners and monsters most level 2-3 i had levelled cards for ages I just didn't have a big enough collection in terms of power to unlock the higher levels. basically I had the cards to compete but not enough power to be able to compete
Thank you for answering, I wanna level up as well at least some monsters to be able to compete, because with renting is very easy to have enough power to climb the ladder, however, it would be nice to build a strong team from the ground up and own those cards as well :)
