Splinterlands | Feral Spirit Challenge
The Feral Spirit is a good Beta Set card if you are able to play in combined with another card that has the sneak attack ability in a match with lower mana. I would say the game right now with the cards that are available has a nice difficulty level when it comes down to getting your head around it finding good options depending on the rules that are given for a specific game. There are enough options to make it interesting for players that want to play and not too much so less analytic players can still wrap their head around it. I keep repeating over and over that the broken matchup system often takes all the fun out of it making it all feel like a pay2win scheme. Matches, where things are even, are actually really fun and challenging both when winning or losing but there are simply too few of these.
This was again one of those matches where the first thing I saw was the opponent having mostly higher-level cards compared to mine which just makes it extremely hard to win since randomness in the game is limited. When game rules only allow Melee Monsters, there are quite some options. Play in a way you limit melee attack from your opponent monsters (this is mostly what I do with a combination of Camila Sungazer & Molten Ogre), Play so you boost your own Melee attack, Protect your monsters with Divine Shield or armor or play Mylor Crowling to give all your monsters Thorns. I Played the Camila Sungazer to reduce the attack from my Opponent combined with the Silvershield Paladin which has Shield reducing it by 1 more when it gets hit. The Manticore in 2nd position has both reach and Torns while the Feral Spirit & Parasitic Growth can do damage to lower health monsters. To finish it off I opted for 2 monsters to observe damage with the Armorsmith to regenerate the armor from the Silvershield Paladin and the Golden Furious Chicken which is featured in nearly all these challenge posts.
My opponent had a similar strategy in terms of cards that were used but the fact that he had cards 2 levels higher compared to mine he had 1 Melee extra on those making it impossible for me to win it. Without it, the match would have resulted in a draw so I can't help but it feeling like a garbage pay2win experience. I must say that he slightly did outplay me in a way and this match came really close to an actual fair, fun, and tactical gaming experience. This makes it all the more frustrating in a way as not that much needs to be done to fix the game yet nothing indicates that it will get done, unfortunately.

Important: Treat games in the first place as games and not as investment opportunities, Splinterlands allows you to earn some money and get good returns but you are much better off flipping burgers in Mcdonalds when looking at the money earned for the time invested. Investing also comes with a risk of card values going down.

I know the feeling, when you have a good deck and your opponent uses the same strategy, but they have the benefit of a couple cards at higher levels! aghhh!!
