The reason I didn't have this card (I bought one yesterday to test for this challenge) is because I believe it only really shines in a very specific situation. It's not good enough as a tank in matches even if ranged damage can be used in the first position, but it can be useful when as a card in the back in matches where melee damage can attack from any position. This is one of the aspects I like about Splinterlands as you are never done collecting more cards and getting stronger for everything the game throws at you in terms of game rules.
This is one of those cards I tried to force into my line-up but couldn't get a win with as it's simply not strong enough unless you are getting the near-perfect setup.
I guess my line-up was by no means the best especially including the Spirit Miner which increased my speed going against the game rules. My opponent his level 1 all-mage deck happened to perfectly counter what I played. The Armor boost from my Life Tyrus Paladin summoner was useless along with the armor regeneration from the Aromr Smith. The War Chaang which has very little protection in 1st place didn't manage to survive very long. the Cyclops didn't benefit whatsoever from the Shield ability while both the Divine Healer and the Spirit Miner got hurt by his reflect ability. to finish things off, the Golden Furious Chicken did not do anything whatsoever in last place.
So I got absolutely crushed and the War Chaang will mostly serve the function to increase my collection score which has got me stuck in gold 1 on my alt account. I honestly don't mind the fact that rewards are being limited and actually encourage it in order to make everything sustainable as rewards simply have too high. The way if is implemented though I can't relate with in any way whatsoever as it practically makes Splinterlands into the worst Pay2Win game in the history of gaming while it doesn't need to be.

Reduced overall rewards, allow everyone to reach the league they are able to reach and give bonus rewards to players based on their collection value
This would achieve exactly the same with the difference that it's a positive incentive instead of a negative one. Right now, everyone feels screwed over and limited by a paywall. I guess the League leaderboards could improve things but still, I really dislike the way they are going about all of this.
