Hello everyone, welcome back to one of my new Splinterlands Hive Post. I keep making Splinterlands post regularly for various reasons, one of them is as a form of my participation of Social media challenge, which is a regular event held on HIVE BLOCKCHAIN. In this event everyone buzzes all around the world about Splinterlands, whether we share our gaming activities, thoughts about Splinterlands, Tokenomic discussion, and many more.

In this opportunity I am sharing my thought about a pair of very strong monster which I have said they could not working well together several time in my previous posts. Here they are:

These two are ridiculously strong,Uriel The Purifier is a god damn powerful hitter, he can deliver 9 damage melee every two turn. Adelade Brightwing is one of the best support in Life ELement team. however in past I could not build up a well linked teamwork between these two.

The main reason was I kept losing attack momentum due to them. I felt like I let my opponent hit me first then one of them started to retaliate. My team was like a sandbag / punching bag. There were other reasons, but this reason was the most dominant one. So I kept saying to others that using both were kind of suicidal.

HOWEVER THING HAS CHANGED NOW!!

Recently I use both of them together quite often. Somehow if I get bot as my opponent, they would have difficulty against this pair. From problematic combo, they have become some sort of sure win combo.

Let's See Some of the Battles, shall we?

BATTLE #1 THE BATTLE OF LIFE ELEMENT

This is a battle which both of us came using Life ELement Team. I used Quix the Devious to lead my team, and my opponent was led by Lorna. I won't talk in detail because this is not SHARE YOUR BATTLE post, but in general you can see I was using Uriel-Adelade as my main defense system, and I brought Bila The Radiant as my second tank incase Uriel got knocked out.

On the third round as you could see, My team managed to knock out Coeurl Lurker and Uriel the Purifiier was standing sturdily as my main tank.

As the round progressed, things got worse for my opponents. Uriel-Adelade-Venari were forming a formidable wall which they could not even scratch.

I won this battle Flawlessly. Everyone in my team had their peak condition.

BATTLE #2 LIFE VS WATER

This is a battle between Life Element (me) vs Water Element. My opponent used combination attack, he divided their firepower from Melee-Magic-Range almost in equal number. My formation almost the same as the previous one, but this time I trusted General Sloan to lead my team. Another difference was I replaced Time Mage with Djinn Renova. I had given up the speed contest, so I approached thicker meat to compensate the speed difference.

That must be hurt.... Oshannus was a super strong tank against magic team, however he met his end thanks to Uriel the Purifier

This turned out to be a long battle too. But this time opponent had deeplurker who kept attacking my backline.

Finally 7 round to end this battle. It's not a perfect win anyway, because their Deeplurker took down my Prismologist.

WHY THIS PAIR BECOMES STRONG

Before we go further, lets check these 2 battles key points first:

• With the combination of Uriel the Purifier, and Adelade Brightwing, attacking straight to the front seems to be useless. This gets worse with the additional of Venari Crystalsmith who keeps healing the tank too.
• Thing might be better if opponent who storming the front has some status ailment effect, such as halving, afflicton, or poison. Without these status ailments, as we can see from battle examples, its futile.
• If opponent using more sneak, snipe or opportunity type of attacks, it's more feasible way to know down my team.

Based on those key points, we can guess the main reason why in past this pair kept losing and now they keep winning is the type of attack bots are using. Maybe not only bot, but most player in general.

In past, people use more sneaks attacks, or some status ailment, buff and debuff. The reason why more players/bots use direct frontal attacks is because the introduction of some cards, especially Rift Watcher which have some strong direct attack monsters. The like of Tinderlock, Runemancer Florre and Runemancer Florre make some people get more confident in using direct attacks instead of sneak and snipe.

This pair is not getting stronger, it's just everyone somehow change to like to use strategy that is incompatible against Uriel and Adelade.

REBELLION MUST BE FUN!!!

If the addition of Rift Watcher can bring this much different, I can not imagine how much difference that Rebellion will bring into this game when they will be released in Q2 2023. This should bring a lot of fun, refreshing all our thought about splinterlands meta building, and ultimately could make us feel this Splinterlands is like a new game.

ROCK - PAPER - SCISSOR

Developing splinterlands team is not like a one way grinding building up stronger set of monsters. We play splinterlands is like playing Rock-Paper-Scissor, there is no exact approach defining one monsters or one formation is stronger or strongest, there will always be a counter, an anti formation of what you use or your opponent use.

So bear in mind, as time goes, people will tend to change their best formation regarding to the newly added cards, however from Macro perspective, they are not getting stronger or unbeatable. It's the same, because there will always be the anti meta of the best strategy you can think of.
