Splinterlands Play 2 Earn New Player Journey

I love a good challenge, and I love playing Splinterlands. And with the explosive growth the game has seen lately, clearly I'm not the only one.

There's a number of reasons people are playing Splinterlands. Some are playing for the simple and fast gameplay that offers a remarkable depth of strategy. Some are playing because of the great community surrounding the game. And others are attracted to the opportunities in the Play 2 Earn gaming space. And the opportunities Splinterlands provides are abundant.

But one thing I've noticed by reading tweets and discord posts from new players is that there is a lot of aspects of the Splinterlands game and community that are not being taken advantage of. In addition to that, there's a little bit of worry about being able to acquire cards and DEC in order to grow as a player and earn through playing.

So I thought it would be a fun challenge to create a brand new Splinterlands account, and see just how far I could grow the account as well as Hive rewards through playing and posting on Hive. Here are the basic "rules" I'm following. This will be a pure case study in building from zero using only time and effort invested. I may run this challenge for a few seasons and then see if I've accomplished my goal of helping new players get more out of both Splinterlands AND HIVE.

• Aside from the spellbook, I'm not going to invest any money in the game or this Hive account. No cards will be delegated or sent from my main account. This is purely ZERO to where ever just from playing and posting.
• Complete the daily quest each day and when I have time, play to about 80% Energy Capture Rate.
• Post daily about my progress and strategies to grow on Splintertalk.io

I'll be posting my progress each day on this account in hopes that it helps new people to learn more about Splinterlands and Hive.

Now, for my results so far. Yesterday I set up the account, so consider it day zero. And today would be day 1.

After completing 2 daily quests and playing on Day 0 and Day 1, I've acquired:

• 2.636 DEC
• 2 Alchemy potions from Daily Quests
