This is how my strategy became a massacre.

Failure is the pillar of success, ain't it?

Its not like I need/should win every battle I play so it shouldn't be like I need to talk about my winning battles only. Sometimes we learn from our mistakes and this is a battle I'm going to talk about where I lost and I tried to learn from what I did wrong in my strategy that became a massacre.

This time I got a battle with 46 mana and I went for it using Yodin Zaku as the fire summoner.

THIS IS THE BATTLE LINK.

Here you can see both team where I've found a opponent with 6 cards against my 6 cards.

Battle Ruleset:

The battle ruleset has 46 mana cap.
Unprotected: Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from abilities of summoner buffs.

My chosen cards.
I chose fire splinter with 5 fire cards and a neutral card where I used Yodin Zaku as the summoner.

The battle was dominated with unprotected ruleset where no monsters gets their own armors and summoner can't give anyone armor buff as well so there's no benefit in using a monster with big armors or a summoner that offers armor stats so I chose monsters without armor except for the first monster that has a good stats with a big armor stats which I lost for the ruleset.

After choosing Grum Flameblade for the first position which was the only melee attacker I chose for this battle, then I chose Tinderlock for the second position who can attack for the first position using close range ability even after being a ranged attacker. And then I chose four more ranged attackers and you should witness their abilities from the battle and stick to the rest of the post.

Enemy's chosen cards.
The enemy chose dragon splinter with all six life cards using Quix the Devious as the Dragon summoner.

The lineup strategy of the enemy team was good and their summoner was really bad for my lineup as it removes ranged damage and I had mostly ranged attackers in my lineup.

The Battle

Yodin Zaku offered +1 ranged damage to all my five chosen ranged attackers, +1 health and blast ability to all my chosen monsters. Then Quix the Devious decreased the extra ranged damage from my ranged monsters and decreased 1 speed from all five chosen monsters from the friendly team and now the friend monsters became the slowest in comparison to the enemy monsters.

Djinn Renova increased the health of all enemy monsters by 1 and Lord of Fire did the same thing to all friendly monsters.

Enemy teams Djinn Renova started attacking first where Grum Flameblade of the friendly team lost two health and then Luminous Eagle damaged two more health of the same friendly monster. Then Captain Katie attacked Tinderlock using the snipe ability where the friendly monster lost three health.

Then Cornealus took its part and damaged two health of Drybone Barbarian of the enemy team and the speed and melee stats of the friendly team increased for having the enrage ability that offers 50% bonus melee attack and speed when the monster is not at full health and the adjacent enemy monster lost one health as well for the friendly blast damage. Then Drybone Barbarian took a big turn and damaged the whole eight health of Grum Flameblade and the friendly monster died.

Reaching front position, Tinderlock lost four health and got only two more now. And now that all the enemy monsters finished taking their turn, its time the friendly team to take some revenge. And all friendly monsters should've damage Drybone Barbarian until this enemy monster dies although Fire Beetle targeted another monster where the enemy team Luminous Eagle.

With the first attack in the new round, the enemy team killed Tinderlock and after the next friendly monster reached the front position, the enemy Drybone Barbarian killed it as well using the big melee damage and this enemy monster is now the main priority of the friendly team to neutralize otherwise they're done for.

The Cornealus of the friendly team reached the first position but it was not as strong as sometime it looks like as it already reached under 8 health and there's the barbarian in the enemy team who was waiting with a big melee damage which would kill this friendly monster with a single shot and the other two friendly monsters did some damage in the meantime with ranged+blast.

And then that time came when Cornealus died as well and the friendly team had only one monster that was able to attack now. And then the friendly team lost another monster by a damage of the enemy's Pelacor Arbalest when the enemy monster still had one more damage to do using double strike and that killed the last enemy monster as well and the friendly team lost the battle.

NEXT TIME.

The next post about splinterlands will be coming soon.
Screenshots are my take from the game website.

SEE YOU.

It's true that failure can be a valuable teacher, and analyzing battles where you didn't win can help you improve your strategy for future battles and good luck with your future battles. @tipu curate 10
