SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! -- Electric Eels

avatar

every week i'm waiting with much of excitement to see what will the new challenge be
this week's challenge Electric Eels was really a challenge to me cause i rarely use this monster
so this it gave me the chance to try play with this particular NFT and see how it goes

of course you cannot play with a card without first choose the correct environment to summon it
so the other day after having some battles i got the one i thought it was right for the Eels to fight in

i cannot say it was an easy battle
i had to choose between 3 Splinters water, earth and death
i decided that the best choice was the water Splinter and due to 'lost magic' rule i had to choose only range and melee attack monsters

Electric Eels seemed promising to me so i got them on board but before we go through the battle lets see the stats of this rare monster

you can click on the following link to see my battle in which i used Electric Eels

as you can see from the stats board the Eels become really lethal when they are upgraded to lvl 5 and get the blast ability
till then they posses the reach ability so you can use them from the second position but its not that tremendous monster that will make the difference in the battle

i chose this card cause as i mentioned above this challenge gave me the initiative
i'm not sure if i had chosen them otherwise
what i truly believe is that this card is not the correct monster for low level decks as mine...
if you use a higher level deck then it is a different story cause the Eels get the blast ability but in decks lvl 1 to 3 this is not a right card to play with

of course it depends on the rules of the battle
dont forget that you may get those rules in which this monster gets some boosts and becomes worth-playing but generally speaking i would not recommend it for lower level decks

always after checking on my opponent i decide to go Water Splinter
i believe even after the end of the battle which was not what i was waiting for it was the best choice but the timing was very wrong
anyway i got the Water-monsters and as a Summoner i used Lir DeepSwimmer
this is a card that i don't own
thank god i have friends that believe in my gaming skills and have leased some really expensive cards to me
this specific one is being leased to me from @koskl and i truly thank him for this

lir220.jpg

Lir is a legendary Summoner pretty expensive i would say
by the time writing this post he's been traded for $48 in the market
he gives +2 Armor in all friendly monsters plus the return fire ability plus the blinded effect

i thought the first two boosters i would need the most so this is the reason i got him as a leader in this battle and believe me i was so very correct on my choice, but as i said...the timing was very bad

what do i mean by 'timing' is that my opponent chose the same Summoner so i didn't get the advantage i thought i was going to get pre-battle
speaking of Summoners we were totally equal
speaking of monsters again we were kinda equal but my picks were wrong
in order to get some melee power i got the Demented Shark but by doing this i actually neutralized one monster as he could not attack from his position, so he gave the extra melee power but was unable to attack himself giving an advantage of one monster to the opponent
this was a major mistake of mine...
my opponent chose to play with range attack monsters which i was expecting from him but he got the Kraken in first position giving me a headache....
if you add some miss-hits from my side in the first round you can understand i had no chance winning this fight

i'm not saying luck was the factor that gave my opponent the victory but i believe things would had evolved differently if he had missed the attacks in the first round and not me
anyhow i made this critical mistake on the Shark and i believe this cost me the battle but let me give you my team
in the first place i got the Sea monster, lvl 3 with the healing ability looked great
in the second position i got the Eels, having the reach ability it seemed a nice choice ( not perfect but nice, i wanted to use them in battle to see how they will perform )
in the third place ,here comes the first mistake, i got the Demented Shark to gain one more hit point in melee attack but neglect the fact that this monster would not be able to be used from 3rd place
in the fourth place i picked my Sabre Shark, this was a mistake as well cause i split my attack power...Sabre Shark is an assassin and hits using his sneak ability, so i split my attack power instead of hitting the first placed rival monster
in the fifth place i got the Feasting Seaweed which has the opportunity ability, as you understand this is a split in my attack power as well but i won't say it was a wrong move , the bad luck is that my opponent got the summoner which actually throw to rubbish Seaweed's opportunity ability by armoring his monsters...
in the last position i placed my legendary Poseidon , a massive range attack power monster with the shield ability from lvl 1
my opponent didnt have such strong monsters but he was modest enough to focus his attack on my first place tank, he supported his team with Crustacean King healing his Kraken and that was enough in conjunction always to my failed attacks to win the fight

  • Sea Monster lvl 3
  • Electic Eels lvl 1
  • Demented Shark lvl 1
  • Sabre Shark lvl 3
  • Feasting Seaweed lvl 3
  • Poseidon lvl 1
