SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge - With WAR CHAANG...

Hi Dear - SplinterMates,

For this week's Battle Share Contest Organised by the SplinterLands Team; details can be found @ Weekly Splinterlands Battle Share:: For this week challenge, we have Neutral Element Monster who is named as WAR CHAANG; we will explore this monster in our post today. I strongly feel that Winning or losing battles does not matter. What matters most is how you stack up against your cards and build them. In this post we will explore WAR CHAANG; share strategy around how a player uses the card i.e. its placing position on the battlefield and how often you use the card and at what level it works the best for you.

In this blog post; I'll be discussing some of the high-level pointers like::-

• A Final Note to keep things simple; simplicity is the one that is admired by most people & I'm one of them that likes to keep things clear and simple.

So how I'm stacked with this Neutral Element WAR CHAANG Monster? Here is the snapshot of this monster which I've at level 1.

Ideally, I didn't have this card. I bought it from the maket for $0.50 via the extra DECs I had. It costed me around close to 1K DECs.

Why did I buy this Neutral monster card WAR CHAANG?

The main reason being is its double attack ability i.e. range and Melee attack. The second reason being is to explore this card and final reason neutral cards are always good to have as they can be used in any battel apart from a rule that especially says that neutral monsters may not be used in the battle.

Let's talk a bit about the ability as well. Chang at level 1 gets you the "Retaliate" ability which means that Melee monsters attack your Chang can be retaliated by Chang hitting them back. Finally the Trample ability opens up at level 4 for which you will need to combine 20 cards. I'm not going thus and going to try out this monster Chang at level 1 first and see how it goes. And when opportunity strikes will be looking further to level up this card to at least level 4.

Now that we know about the card and how I'm stacked up with it. Lets Battle As

So it was a 38 MANA CAP Battle with two rules; Weak magic and Melee Mayhem. Sounds a good rule to include CHAANG as it does have Melee attack so this monster is going to give me double benefits and in return, my oppononets monsters get double damage.

Here is the LINE-UP of our Monster Cards::-

If you carefully observe my line-up you would have noticed that I'm heavily relying upon the healing cards like Wood Nymph and Spirit of the forest. At the same time, I wanted my tank to stand strong, and with its thorn and magic reflect the ability had the plan to do further destruction of my opponent's monsters.

Game Plan & Strategy Discussion::

Here comes the Lord of all the monsters; Yes; you are right I'm talking about my Lord Arianthus and he was lined up first.

I'm a great fan of its Magic reflect ability and thorn ability as well. In this battle, I was heavily relying upon the Lord of all the monsters Arianthus. For Lord to stand tall and for a longer time in the battlefield, I had placed/selected cards that would be healing it at the right moment.

"WAR CHAANG" - was protected from both sides. As I was playing with this card at a lower level so it would have been wise to protect it and hence I placed Chaang at a safer place. And this strategy did turn out to work well. Also the battle rule Melee Mayhem was favorable for Chaang as it does have Melee attack ability as well.

Finally, let's talk about Legendary Earth Monster - "SPIRIT OF THE FOREST"

I'm lucky to have this Earth Legendary monster at level 3. And as you can see this gives my monster 4 different abilities. The main ones that come in handy are its Tank healing and Protect ability. If truth is to be told then I would say that for most of my battles when I use Earth Element monsters then "SPIRIT OF THE FOREST" monster will surely make it to the battlefield. The other thing that stands out with this monster is its high speed which is 6; which gives your monster to attack first and do the real damage.

I'll not be going into describing all the monsters line-up. But will focus on the major ones and the rest will keep it for you to explore via the battle. This gets you to understand better regarding the card placements and the strategy which is being discussed.

The rest is history and I'll keep it for you to explore in the Replay Match. So overall the strategy did work out well and here is the result:: A Clear WINNER getting me +28 points and +21 DECs the In-game currency.

I'll be very frank here. This is for the first time that I've played with this neutral monster CHAANG. And really liked its ability to attack twice with range and then Melee attack. Imagine using a Summoners like - "SELENIA SKY" or "DARIA DRAGONSCALE" which will give this monster a plus range or Melee attack as the case may be.

A Final Note to keep things simple; Tell me in One Word Should I include CHANG in my card collection?

It's a BIG YES. And I say this because this is a Neutral monster. And according to my experience with the game, I feel that Neutral monster cards are good to stack up because these cards can be played in many of the battles when compared to monsters that are of type Fire, Water, Earth etc. Apart from them CHANG double attack ability also stands out and that's the reason I say that it's a good card to buy and stack them up. If you can then try leveling this card to level 4 so that you can activate the "Trample" ability as well.
