Splinterlands: Using Djinn Oshannus for the first time in a long while

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Djinn Oshannus.

Featured cards

Djinn Oshannus is a water splinter that costs 8 mana. This splinter starts with the void ability. This card learns phase at level 2 and Forcefield at level 3. This is a card that is now part of the wild set because it was moved out of Modern a while ago.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Outsider. This means that one wild unit can be used. There is also 49 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for fire and earth.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Marlai Singariel for the +1 speed. My tank is Chaos Rear Guard with shield. Thanalorian Scion and Djinn Oshannus are my backup tanks. Daarg is next to some support monsters for the weapons training.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match is my win due to the damage difference. My opponent might have decent speed, but my backup tanks are going to hard for my opponent to kill.

Round 3

round 3.png
A few rounds later, my opponent has 2 monsters left while I have only 1 left. I have the speed advantage, but I can still win if I can land one of my two hits.

I won the match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle went exactly as planned with my backup tanks soaking up the damage. The rest of my lineup could focus on damage, and it was a fairly easy win. It felt nice to use a card like Djinn Oshannus again after a long time. I don't have a gold foil version of this, and I haven't touched Wild format lately.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

Just like you've, I've not used the djinn Oshanus for a very long time, I think this is because of other card options. It's great to see how you've won, there's honestly nothing better than having a heavy tank.
