Splinterlands: Winning because of Chaos Furybringer's speed
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Chaos Furybringer.
Featured cards

Chaos Furybringer is a fire splinter that costs 6 mana. This card has reach to start. Leveling this card increases its stats, and I find it as a fairly decent card to use in Foundational battles due to its fast speed, and it's one of the better backup tanks.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Standard. This means that there are no effects on the battle. There is also 27 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for water, earth, and dragon.
This ruleset is interesting because it's rare to see a standard battle. It all comes down to how well you can set up your own lineup.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barthalamas | 6 | Summoner | +1 speed |
| Frankarsgard | 7 | 1st | |
| Chaos Furybringer | 6 | 2nd | Reach |
| Sturdy Axe Warden | 8 | 3rd | |
| Total Mana: | 27 |
My summoner is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. My tank is Frankarsgard. My backup tank is Frankarsgard with reach. Sturdy Axe Warden is my ranged damage dealer.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. Frankarsgard is a great tank due to its stats, and the rest of my lineup doesn't have much health, but they are fast damage dealers.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent reduces my health by 2, so my backline damage dealers can die from that opportunity monster. It will depend on how fast I can kill off my opponent's monster to see if I win.
Round 3

A few rounds later, my tank is almost dead, but my opponent is down to just 2 monsters as well. However, this is my win. My opponent missed an attack in the 1st round, so my damage dealers are alive. This allowed me to deal enough damage to overcome the difference. At this point, I am faster than my opponent, so I can't miss any attacks.

I won that match later that round.
Conclusion
The battle this time went exactly as planned. I was able to take out my opponent by focusing on damage and speed. I am glad that Chaos Furybringer was able to dodge that opportunity monster; otherwise, the match would have been close. The -2 health combination can be quite deadly, but I am glad that I was able to win this match. Speed does matter because it makes it so that you can dodge physical attacks, and it increases the chance of you landing hits.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
