Can Splinterlands Change Your Life?

avatar

Yes, I believe it can and has for many...

For me personally, it's done so much. From the air drops to the game play, the guilds to even integrating it into our Index Token project, Splinterlands truly has been....

Life changing!

And as the hype begins to swell for the upcoming launch of Chaos Legion, we're seeing over 400,000 new people in the past 30 days join in the excitement and many more headed our way shortly.

And this is when the entrepreneur in me starts asking questions...

What kind of businesses and services can be formed for the Splinterlands eco-system?

Content Creators

Absolutely! Not only do we have fantastic on-chain services like @threespeak and @vimmtv that help people share their passion for the game visually, we have an entire blogging platform with it's own token in Splintertalk!

logof.png

If you love this game, you can create an entire business just from creating content about it.

Rental Businesses

The card rental market is BOOMING!

Even without the end of season rush, people are putting their assets up for rent and getting some very healthy returns from them.

Splinterlands-Collect-Trade-Battle-.png

It's like, all the benefit of owning real estate...Without the headaches of being a landlord lol Seriously though, once people learn how to maximize their returns and provide great value to the players renting the cards...We see lucrative businesses being formed.

Collectors!

This is kind of where I got started in Splinterlands! I knew nothing about the game, I'd never played a card game in my life...But I used to collect the crap out of my baseball cards.

yodin.png

And for those into NFTs and card collecting, this platform is pure gold!

Trading

It wouldn't be crypto or a blockchain based game without some good ol' fashioned trading opportunities.

For me, I'm pretty boring. Buy and hold! But for some, their entrepreneurial spirit begins when a card is low on the market and they scoop it up. Only to sell it for a profit!

bguh.png

Not always the more 'stable' of game plans but hey, people love it!

Actual...Gaming!

eSports is a thing! We're seeing it from the tournaments taking place every day here on the game. And it's not for chump change either.

match.png

(I actually won this battle lol Perfect timing!)

Whether it's ranked battles, tournaments or even guild play there are some people making a real good living...Playing the game of #Splinterlands !

Coaching & Consulting

While this hasn't been spoken of a lot I do see some Splinterlands players becoming coaches and consulting new players on how to maximize their experience in the game.

Nugget: If someone creates a step by step tutorial for Peakmonsters, I know it would be a SURE FIRE hit! I'd buy it lol

This I think has HUGE potential as Splinterlands continues to explode and attract new players that...May fall in love with the basics, but would be willing to invest in some 1 on 1 coaching to get better at the game!

Jon's Ideas...

Again, I'm an entrepreneur at the core and for me, I just love the thought of what 'may be' in the future of this game.

I can see, rental consulting services...I'm not sure exactly how it would work but people could create tutorials and training on how to maximize assets on the rental markets.

I could see...Daily fantasy esports for the game! I know this is around to some extent, but once player staking is here...Watch out. Imagine 'betting' on your favorite players in tournaments, etc.

Very exciting stuff!

We're seeing the @monster-curator team building a lucrative curation business along with Monster Market and the Card Auctionz team as well!

More and more 3rd party services will pop up I'm sure :)

We really are just getting started! And I know I'm leaving out so many different ways that entrepreneurs and players can potentially earn a living from this game.

For now though...A lot of us are just...Having a lot of fun!

And that's what makes Splinterlands so powerful. Because when you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life!

The exciting time ahead. I think it's not only for the splinetrlands gamers but it's also good for people over here in Hive where you get benefit from the gamers like you because you all are taking the game to the millions and that is helping the Hive platform to get new users.

Oh that's so true, and why @flauwy and @kevinli over at 1up.zone created that tribe. It's about to get crazy in this space :)

I've contemplated whether to keep it simple and buy new reward legendary monsters and rent them out. Once they out of print, dollar cost sell to return equity which can be used to purchase the chaos legion legendary summoners and monsters.

This way you will always have a high-valuable rental deck to rent out. Legendaries tend to maintain their value over the long-term. When you sell, you only selling to return your orignial investment which then can be used to purchase a new set.

Rinse. Repeat.

Yeah that's a really good point. Building multiple decks and just having some awesome cards to rent out. Great strategy!

That is pretty true. I think I have shared the link to my online course about 20 times in the last weeks just to players who wanted to get started :-).

I also think that the land expansion could develop types of team economies that could be very interesting. Like as a team you create assets and find ideas how to optimize the return and strategies. So exciting ;-)

It sure is amazing to see the various ways people can participate in the economy. The rental system definitely opens up a lot of options for both new and old users. I have been skipping brawl but maybe I should be participating on that end as well...

Great summation of all possibilities, this ecosystem provides. There are a multitude of avenues, to participate and I try to tip my toes into a lot of them.

My deck is not that deep and vast to rent out as much, but I try to buy up a few reward cards, who hopefully will appreciate over time (when they're out of print for sure) and renting them out.

But blogging alongside with playing the game is my true passion and I'm thankful, Hive and Splinterlands have given us those opportunities.

Awesome analysis. It's awesome to have these many options of earnings viaSPlinterlands economy. Whether as an active or passive player (a spectator as I would call it), it's a win win for all.

I think that there will be a big market coming where if you stake your sps on a certain account, they lease a couple strong cards to you to help you get into silver league.

As you don’t get many rewards in bronze, it is important to get into silver 3 asap.

The beauty of exchanges like this is that everyone keeps their own assets.

Oh and another one. Players offering to do the daily quest for you. Create a separate account for splinterlands and share only the posting key. Then delegate all cards from the owner account to the play account.

That way the cards are safe and you can let someone else play with the cards. All assets earned in the play account get sent to the owner account and then delegated back.

I can see some smart devs automate this so that it all happens automatically.

Well I mean it change my life in a number of ways which is kind of crazy.

I could retire today if I liquidated everything lol but will I? Nope, I love playing the game and love the possibilities of what is to come.

However it has made me a drastic increase in passive income from renting but it also feeds my gaming addiction which I'm doing my best to keep in check right now haha

What is awesome though is the amazing support that comes from SPT and blogging. It shows you the true power when you combine a Hive outpost with your crypto game and offer up some type of reward for the two.

Hey man, great work! I arrived to Splinterlands very late compared to some NFT and Card Power whales from 2018, but I guess it's also early. The way that #splintertalk encourages all of us to interact and create content, it's only an example of how encouraging the project is. By the way, I had my English almost forgotten and here I am! But what I like most, is the community. Although is a competitive game, everyone helps others to improve. By the way I am also creating content for newarrivers like me. Any help would be very appreciated.

Brawls isn't talked much, but there were enough hints from the team they'll upgrade it to include rewards with real value outside the brawls (first being SPS, probably). We'll see some real competition there too then.
