For years, splinterlands has remained the top game on the steem and hive blockchain boasting an active player base that attracts 6000 daily players. Splinterlands aims to give new players more chances to learn and play, with now splinterlands being available on mobile. It has released on Apple's iOS platform and Android devices.

So how was it performed in comparison to other card-based games?

Splinterlands Mobile Data

Using a combination of Sensor Tower and App Annie, we can view the following stats based on their free plans:

Image 1.png

According to Sensor Tower, the splinterlands mobile apps score an F and C on the Itunes and Google Play Stores, respectively. It isn't easy to judge the Itunes score as the mobile app has only been recently released.

According to App Annie, splinterlands Android mobile app has achieved a cumulative rating of 4.11 from 114 ratings. There is no data available for the iOS app at the moment on App Annie.

How does it compare to other popular TCGs?

Mobile TCGs are a prevalent genre of games that have been around for a long time on mobile devices. How does splinterlands mobile compare up to some of the big heavy hitters in this space?

Splinterlands has tough competition in the mobile space.

App Store Optimisation (ASO)

One way to get more eyeballs is to improve your apps ASO. From what I understand, it's SEO but for mobile apps. Many extensive guides exist for this, but I found reading through this one proves to be a good starting point.

Applying some of the ideas from the ASO guide mentioned above, the following item may improve the splinterlands mobile app pages:

  • Add a gameplay video to showcase how the game plays.
  • Expand the game description and copy to target keywords
  • More screenshots showcasing more of the game

Nonetheless, I think the splinterlands team is making great strides to get the game in front of a wider audience, which can only be a good thing over the long term.

Great feedback! There's lots of opportunity to expand upon what's already been published on the app stores. I'll definitely review the resource you provided and see what we can do to improve our reach!

This is really a great and unique feedback for the Splinterlands team. Fantastic that Nate already read your article and hopefully will take good use of this info to improve the apps and ASO.
