👀 = See Eye Candy!

Chaos Legion 👀:

  • New leaderboard page has been released just yesterday
  • Most likely will be a gap between the end of pre-sale and official launch of CL
    • This means CL packs won't be opened right away after pre-sale
    • Goal is to get launch out before end of year
    • Still a lot of work with the CL cards and the new ranked formats

  • Top 6 Summoner design only allows the buyer to design the art, not the abilities
  • When CL is released, there will be a 1% chance to get a pack in a rewards chest
  • For each airdrop, there will be a minimum amount required to get a guaranteed airdrop
    • The amount required is announced before airdrop is dropped
      • Amount changes per airdrop and what rarity the card is
        • Legendaries require a higher amount, epics require less
    • Any pack bought from the in-game store will count towards the airdrop
  • Chaos Legion packs will include both summoners and monsters

DEC:

  • The algorithm in the game is designed to increase DEC rewards as price goes above the pegged price of $0.001
    • Team doesn't control the price; it is a free market

SPS:

  • At some point, the team may sell the SPS income they receive
    • May also give SPS bonuses to team members
  • Aggroed has sold SPS in order to make Liquidity Pools
    • When selling, he sells at a higher market price and waits for market to buy it
  • Most team members though have been staking all their SPS
    • Check out their accounts on the Richlist for SPS
      • Smalp (Aggroed), Yabapmatt, Cryptomancer
  • SPS used for payments or credits is ultimately corporate income and will be used as such
  • Anything that is cool in this game is going to require SPS staked
  • SPS.DAO account may put the vouchers they've received in a SPS/Voucher pool

Scaling & Dev Work:

  • Server and backend work is going to be an ongoing process
  • Made some backend changes to make servers run smoother
  • Beyond scaling issues, team is mainly focused on Chaos Legion
    • New ranked formats, SPS rewards, & land is next priorities
  • All ongoing issues are growing pains and need patience from the community while the team gets through it
  • Expect to see more stability throughout the next few weeks
  • Team is adding more servers to cache data quicker and make the site run quicker
    • Will allow the ranked leaderboards to be back online
  • Team isn't trying to limit the playing of players
    • The rate limit will allow automated systems to not break the game
  • Shoutout to the support team!
    • Support team gets thousands of tickets a day
    • Responses are slow because there are far fewer devs than community members
    • Team needs to budget and prioritize resources to handle everything
    • No issue will be left unresolved, team can promise that
  • Team is working on a Splinterlands software development kit (SDK)
    • Look at Splinterlands website and see what API calls are made
    • Will release documentation in the near-distant future

Land:

  • You will want higher level cards to work on your land plots
    • Higher level cards will boost the production more than lower levels
    • Land owners better start preparing!
  • SPS will be needed to upgrade buildings
  • Items and spells will only be able to be crafted on land
    • This produces many more earnings to land owners rather than Splinterlands team

Recent Splinterlands Updates:

  • Splinterlands is not a free-to-play game
  • Splinterlands main goal is to incentivize players to buy Splinterlands assets
    • DEC farmers that don't invest ultimately ruin the game economy
    • Recent changes will limit these players and hopefully motivate them to play the right way
    • This is not to scare away new players, it is to incentivize them
    • Come to the Telegram & Discord channels if need any kind of help or have questions
  • If you want to earn more but can't invest, checkout YGG below
    • YGG balances the need for people to own assets in-game vs players who might not want to put in those upfront costs

Yield Guild Games (YGG):

  • One of the biggest play-to-earn gaming guilds
  • Special Announcements:
    • Had purchased two regions and bunch of packs earlier this year
    • Going to be introducing fractional ownership through their new subDAO
    • Read More Here: YGG|SPL SubDAO Litepaper
  • Always looking to recruit new players
    • Taking in anyone, whether you have assets or don't
    • Click the header link to go to YGG's Discord to learn more how to join

Exchanges:

  • Exchange listings are nice, but are very difficult
    • It isn't just the team, but the community can help spearhead these exchange listings
    • Team could take a bunch of time to try to get listed, or they can continue focusing on the game
      • Splinterlands have 1.2 million registered users
      • Goal is to have exchanges FOMO into Splinterlands, not vice versa

Great AMA! Kind of disappointed that CL is going to be delayed, but it needs to be right so I totally understand.

Keep up the great work!

I think what is making the CL release take more time than anticipated is the new ranked formats that will be released jointly with CL. So as unfortunate as it, I think everyone will greatly appreciate the updates when both get released!

Best of luck to projects like YGG subtokenization may well be the future.

The future of work is not about employment, but finding a network of people who are gathered around a common productive goal, doing the work required to reach that goal and sharing in the upside of that network.

YGG’s mission is to create the biggest virtual world economy, optimizing its community-owned assets for maximum utility and sharing its profits with its token holders.

@splinterlands So wait a sec ... hold ya horses ... Does the guaranteed promo card per 50 packs still apply or not? or does it just apply for the first 50 packs you buy? ... or not at all?? ...

Every 50 Chaos Legion packs you buy, you are guaranteed at least 1 promo card. You may get more than 1 as each pack individually has a 2% chance to receive a promo card as well.

I advise you checkout the Leaderboard page then hover over the Doctor Blight image under the Rewards column. If you do this, it will tell you how many promo cards that player is guaranteed to receive depending on how many packs they received.

Cool thanks for the reply @brybro27 ... funnily enough , first thing I did after I posted was to go check that out haha. Probably should have did that first before I posted :).

For each airdrop, there will be a minimum amount required to get a guaranteed airdrop
The amount required is announced before airdrop is dropped
Amount changes per airdrop and what rarity the card is
Legendaries require a higher amount, epics require less

The above part added a bit of confusion. Especially the line about the amount changes per airdrop.

Anyways , the question now is : if one buys 750 packs , which should equal 15 promo cards ... do you get 15 copies of the first promo card or are you getting all 15 promo cards?

I would assume it's the latter , but hey ... ya never know ...

Buying 750 packs during the pre-sale will get you at least 15 (1 BCX) of the exclusive promo card.

After this exclusive promo card and pre-sale, there will be 13 other airdrops that won't stop until a new milestone is achieved when selling out Chaos Legion packs. My guess is each milestone will be 1M more packs sold.

So when each milestone is reached, an airdrop will occur. The airdrop will work very similar to the promo card airdrop, however, the guaranteed amount of packs required will increase quite a bit (I'm guessing around 300-400 first airdrop).

After the first airdrop, the subsequent airdrops will always increase in guaranteed amount required as all packs bought since the pre-sale count towards these airdrops.

So if you buy 750 packs during the pre-sale, those 750 packs will count through all 13 airdrops. That is why buying early in pre-sale is pretty significant as you will get a chance for all airdrops through the public sale.

Thanks for the reply and clearing that up ... I've gone and listened to the AMA where they had mentioned about the Packs and Promo cards ... and unfortunately I've become less sure about some other things now ... and was hoping you could help clear those up also....

Sorry about being a pain with all the questions ... I know these things have probably been asked a thousand times already ... ... so apologies for asking again ...

And from what I understand at the moment (which seems to be very little at this point) :

1 - The buyer of the packs(through the shop only) gets the airdrop benefits correct?

2 - One does not have to own the packs , only to have purchased the packs to get the airdrops correct?

3 - So if the above is correct , I can sell the packs I've purchased and still get the airdrops correct?

4 - The promo cards being 'airdrops' would suggest that they are separate from the packs ... Meaning you don't need to open a pack to get a promo card ... or is that not the case?

5 - Or are the Promo cards both airdrops and in packs ... meaning you have a chance of getting them in packs when you open them?

6 - And does this apply to the 13 future airdrops? ... Meaning as long as one has purchased the required number of packs (for the future airdrops) you will get a promo card without having to own and open the pack?

The reason I am asking is because during the AMA , I think it was Matt speaking , explaining about the algorithm making sure you get a promo card for each 50 packs ... going on to say that if you opened the 50 packs and didn't get a promo card the algorithm would make sure at least one of those cards is a promo card ...

Unfortunately this is part of what is confusing me ... from the above statement it sounds like you have to open the packs to get the promo cards ... (I am assuming that that is not correct) , but at this point I really have no idea ....

I am assuming here that Matt was talking about the chances of getting a promo card when opening a pack and not the airdrops .... or am I totally wrong here?

It would be much appreciated if you can clear that up?
Thanks again for taking the time to reply to these 🙂

1,2,3,4 - Yes
5 - The promo card is exclusive and will only be airdropped to those who bought pre-sale packs. So this card will not appear in packs.
6 - The future 13 cards will be airdropped in a similar fashion (packs requirements for a guaranteed airdrop will vary depending on card rarity). The difference is that these cards will be available in packs from the moment they are introduced.

Not sure exactly what you were referring to during the AMA. If you can find it in the recording please let me know the timestamp.

Hey @danielsaori , thanks for the reply.

I think it was about here

But yeah , you kinda just answered it there. That the future 13 cards are going to be in the packs , Which would mean for those 13 you would have to buy packs and open them to get one. Which I guess is what Matt is talking about there.

It sounds like you are still mixing up a few things.
The airdrop basically works the same for all 14 cards. As soon as another 1M packs have been sold a new airdrop will take place. Any packs purchased up until that point will give you a chance to get a card via the airdrop.

It's just that the 1st Promo card can ONLY be collected from the airdrop, it will not be available as a random card in any packs. For the other 13 cards, they will also be available in packs as soon as they are released.

What I think Matt was referring to is a theoretical chance that the algorithm is not picking you in the airdrop even though you reached the guaranteed threshold. If that's the case, the system will still correct it and give you your guaranteed drop.
