Proposal: Burn All Unsold Visions of Verico Packs
(Edited)

With the proposed extension of Visions of Verico sale not passing, I would like to propose this instead:
Proceed with the current pack sale deadline and burn all unsold packs.
That's all. Thanks. 🙂

I’m all for burning packs that haven’t been sold, and definitely for not extending sale deadlines.
But, wouldn’t keeping a (very) limited amount of packs (for example 10% of packs sold) by the DAO and distributing only AFTER the Mystery & Foil draws be an option as well? That way there’s less dilution of value and players who still want the cards for land can still get them.
Well I still want it extended and was hoping if it was done just for a month it would be workable. OTherwise I'd rather the unsold packs be kept as prizes. Or maybe as a new sell 6 months from now depending on the flow of the existing cards. (I mean they can always be burned in the future right? ) Kind of a keep for now and see what happens?
I don't like extending sales deadlines as I think it becomes a negative enforcement loop that leads people to think "let's just wait until they extend it" so I can't support extending it. I also don't like the idea of just burning it as I think that ultimately ends with "Visions of Verico 2: Rare Land Card Boogaloo" but maybe that's ultimately what people want. So ultimately... it is what it is. Not sure how much the outcome of either of these proposals really matters in the grand scheme of things.
I dont think it is negative enforcement what is going to happen is those who managed to get the packs now are going to inflate prices and i think this was not the goal of this release. i think Dave said b4 that the purpose of VERICO was for those plots that were not being worked on to be able to put some cards there at least and have land activated. Now with the current way that i see some guys want it to be, i think that goal is not going to be fulfilled lol it is just going to be like those first land cards whereby the prices will just inflate and the overall goal is not going to be fulfilled. from my view thats just how am viewing it. the timeline was not good to begin with in my view. escalation was having less packs but it was not for a month lol. why this VERICO is having way less time frame ? burning it is to me = to burning money because as I understand the cards were paid for by the DAO. unless if am mistaken.
The negative enforcement thing was more about the idea of extending the sale (the other proposal). I think it's very problematic if we don't respect the deadlines we set. For example, if I say "you have 9 months to buy Conclave Arcana and then it's gone" and you say "well I'll just hold off until they eventually extend the sale" we create a situation where we start cyclically pushing back and extending every sale because "maybe a buyer will come" and the unfortunate reality is that we may just need some people having regret to have any value of sales in the future. While I'd prefer these sold and we don't see another land card set this year... I'm just saying practically speaking if these packs are burned and there's demand for more land cards due to... I dunno buildings releasing and whatever they produce being desirable... then we'll probably just end up with another new set of cards and probably more confusion/feelings.
In short, don't really think there's a clear win here, but it'll work out however it works out and I'm sure we'll adapt accordingly. Not super worried about either outcome personally.
well this was not a 9 month sale unfortunately not even 2 lol
Yea fair enough. I think this is a situation that is much more complicated than a normal sale. I'll vote to give more time, but in general I don't like that being a strategy going forward of moving the end dates.
There's a lot of folks in the community who feel the late decision and late announcement by matt about these cards already blocked out a lot of folks without a shitload of disposable income who need to buy over time. Being more exclusive instead of more inclusive is just pushing people out.
If we don't change course we're not going to have anyone left.
I appreciate this. I'd burn them. But this community thinks more stuff no one buys somehow equals more value so they never want to burn anything.
