Adapting to Modern: Getting to Know Your Rebellion Core Set Part 4

image.png

Prelude
Welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today focusing and getting more cards on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. With the wrapping up of the sharing and review of the Soul Bound Reward cards from Rebellion set and due to Rebellion will become the main set that have sinked into the modern era when a new card set release into the modern group, there is still a need to have a good base of Rebellion core set cards. So with this, I will embark on reviewing 2 cards per week from the Rebellion Core set to discuss if you should be considering getting some of the cards to adapt to modern gameplay when the new set comes and Chaos Legion phases out. So let's get on with it and look at the 2 cards.

Rebellion Core Set Cards

Similar to the previous post for tis seris, we will begin discussing card from the Rebellion Core Set. Using a similar method when I reviewed the Soul Bound reward cards, I will be discussing about the growth of the cards and will give a simple review to whether or not investing into them will level up your game play or not. And let's continue with the 2 epic cards from Rebellion Fire Splinter.

Dalthin Ironhood

The first fire splinter rare card that we will review is the Dalthin Ironhood. A card that has weapon training at base which can transform cards that have no attacks to somehow become a new attacker. I like how this card is well balanced in terms of its stats with growth bringing to become way more bulkier than at base. Once we go to level 3, this card become a good card for Noxious Fumes due to the immunity. Not only does it prevent poison, other negative buffs will not affect it. When this card reaches final form, it even comes with a detonation mechanism through Redemption to give it a last ditch parting gift upon being killed. Personally, the key will be the weapons training which is a very good ability to allow cards having an aextra mention whhen need. If you have not made a copy, I think it is a nice card to have and will come in handy is multiple rulesets.

Infenal Firestorm

The next card we will look at will be Infernal Firestorm. An interesting card which comes with the flank ability. This card is a stat monster with very strong health and armour stats. For a card that has flank, if we compare this with Ulundin Overseer, this card is the better deal where we are able to have natural magic account unless we want to use other froms of attacks by weapon training by other cards. This card will just have flank ability all the way until its last level where it will unlock demoralize. Somewhat like a tank that can allow massive punishment on it and I do think this card is good to pursue for a magic tank. Not a proud favourite as I rarely se tis car being used in the battle. This card probably having it a level 1 for now is a good enough investment, giving us flexibility in our gameplay and cards suitable for various rulesets

Assessment
As compared to the 2 cards that I've reviewed last week, I personally think both are rather decent. Dalthin creates a new range attacker for those non attacking cards which can proof to be be a headache to face, Infernal Firestorm looked like a monstrous tank that can unleash maybe an Exploding Rats which can make things real difficult for opponent. Both cards are niche in their own ways and both cards should add really good selection to be flexible for all kinds of rulesets that we are exposed to.

Rating wise for both the cards, I would say Dalthin Ironhood deserves a good decent rating of 3.8/5 based on how this card can create 2 more range attacking cards and if levelled up high enough can sustain poison rulesets while Internal Firestorm will deserve a rating of 3.6/5 for due to the massive stat that this card possess and how it can synergize with many Fire Splinter melee cards which can now hide behind a tank and start striking opponent lineup with some protection and doing massive damage. Both cards are worthy additions to your collection to give much more flexibility during card selection and find the best combination for various rulesets.

Wrap Up
I have started looking into the Rebellion core set cards that we need to start building up to prepare for the new set that will be coming in when Chaos Legion gets rotated out. I do hope that with the new set that will be launching soon, we can find back the vibrancy during the prime days where everyone was busy camping for cheap cards or scurrying through the rental market to get cheap rentals. Remember, if you are uncertain, there is training mode available for you to test these card out and try out how it can perform before purchasing or renting.

Let's continue to grow and find path in modern as we journey on playing Splinterlands.

See you next time!
