Social Media Challenge - A Strong Reversal Through Execute

Prelude
Good day to all, how are you doing this lovely Friday and how has 2026 been for you all this while? Let's get back to my regular sharing and for today, I will be sharing on an interesting match that I had recently had where I see how a match was turning for the worst get overturned with my lineup taking the victory.

Execute

The ability reads like this:
If the target has 2 or less health after a successful attack, perform another attack against the same unit.

And this ability will get even crazier when there is blast or even double strike. And it starts getting crazy when the board itself has many low health cards remain. But otherwise by itself, this ability is already tough to handle.

Because of this, I love using the elves bloodline with their archon as all of the elves when playing with the elf archon will gain execute. So let's get into today's battle sharing.

Ruleset: What Doesn't Kill You
Mana Limit: 24

Selection Analysis
In today's matchup, there were 3 splinter choices available to us for this match, namely fire, death and earth. Because I am using bloodline splinter for elves, I am using earth splinter to enable ever elf to have execute.

To lead the lineup, as it is already pre decided that it will be elf bloodline archon, it will be Kaylia Silverleaf to lead the lineup with execute granted to every elf and -1 magic attack to all my opponent magic attackers. Because the mana for the match is not alot, we will have to ration a little so tank will definitely be Halfling Refugee with a nice 1 mana cost but comes with nice stats. Next will be Phelgmunculus which is a 2 mana dual attack card with melee and range, this is actually a filler to take up the unused 2 mana remain after selecting the rest of the lineup. Following is which is Silverleaf Warlord which has 2 magic attack and also carry swiftness that boost the speed of the lineup. And next in line is Blackmoor Wild Elf which also hits for 2 magic attack but do have camouflage as well. Last but not the least is Thanalorian Blade which carries opportunity and best to perform execute since opportunity seeks low health cards.

Opponent used the exact same archon as me, Kaylia Silverleaf which has the abilities that I've mentioned in above paragraph. Tank wise, it is also exactly the same, Halfling Refugee. The difference comes in the 2nd card which is Ironwing Juggernaut which has charge ability, allowing it to strike from non first position. And for the next 2 cards, it is also exactly same sequence and same card as mine, Silverleaf Warlord and Blackmoor Wild Elf. And now to the difference between us, opponent used Satha Toledo which has tank heal and most likely plans to sustain the lineup using heal.

The lineup is effectively similar with only 2 cards difference between the two of us. So let's head right on to the round by round synopsis to see how the match went.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - Things went out to a flying start with both tanks being taken out and accelerated by Execute from the elves on both sides. For me it was worse because even my 2nd card also got taken out. This is worrying.

Round 2 - Everything starts to fall apart on my end with only 1 card remain after my Silverleaf Warlord and Blackmoor Wild Elf both get taken out this round.

Round 3 - Time to fight back, as Thanalorian Blade managed to take out opponent's Silverleaf Warlord and is now on enraged state due to it being not on full health.

Round 4 - And in this round, the comeback has happened as opponent's Blackmoor Wild Elf fell. Leaving only Satha Toledo whom is a range attacker that cannot attack at first position against me.

Round 5-6 - This remains as just clearing out a non-retaliating card as we secured victory in round 6.

Battle Summary
This was a little crazy because when we look at the first few rounds, opponent was actually on a roll and clearing my cards with ease and I was essentially having odds staked against me big time. But when it was cleared up, Thanalorian Blade started executing Warlord then cleared off Blackmoor Wild Elf easily, everything was just moving fast as we nail the victory where initially looked to be a problem to even win.
