Trying out The Kraken by renting it (2022.03.30)

One day ago I had a discussion with @savvyplayer about Splinterlands battles, and he encouraged me to try out The Kraken.

Today I indeed decided to try it out by renting it for one day for 51.95 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC).

My first battle with The Kraken:

It was a 17 mana cap battle. This battle was against @mabu01.

I used Alric Stormbringer as a summoner, and of course The Kraken on the first place, Ice Pixie on the second place, and the Furious Chicken on the third place.

The enemy used Kelya Frendul as a summoner, the Serpent of Eld on the first place, the Pelacor Bandit on the second place, and the Merdaali Guardian on the third place.

I won the battle. I was lucky that the enemy healer have not had any attack ability. My The Kraken survived with 4 health. Of course there was a missed attack against the Serpent of Eld because of its Dodge ability and of its increased speed from the enemy summoner. The Ice Pixie with 2 mana cost was a good choice on the second place for me. It killed the enemy Pelacor Bandit with one hit because of its increased magic attack from my summoner.

Maybe I should have placed the Furious Chicken on the first place, and my The Kraken would have survived the battle with more health. Or maybe not. This is a good question. More experienced Splinterlands players with The Kraken probably know the answer to this question.

This was just/only my first battle with The Kraken, but I already like it. Thank you for the suggestion.

I am thinking of renting Kraken just to have fun with it for a day. Nice battle I think having Furious Chicken at the back there is better.

I have a Kraken delegated to me but I don't use it as often anymore. Also, I would have recommended renting it out earlier in the season as rental prices are currently inflated due to the season end.

Nowadays I rarely rent Splinterlands cards (I usually lease them out), but that (renting earlier in the season) is a good idea. Thank you.

Just a hint. Make sure to have enough collection power for whatever rank you want to hold because your rank will drop otherwise when leases end.

I know. Currently my max tier is Bronze I. If I would not lease out any card, then it would be Silver III. But nowadays I very rarely reach that League. I am currently in the Bronze III league. The current season will end in four hours 37 minutes, so probably I will finish the current season in the Bronze III league.
