Today marks the first day of Splinterlands 365 days of SPS airdrops.

SPS stands for Splintershards tokens, which is a new governance token that is currently being integrated into the Splinterlands game. 400,000,000 tokens are going to be released via airdrop to Splinterlands players and asset holders. Instead of one snapshot being taken and all of the tokens being airdropped at once, the Splinterlands team has decided to airdrop tokens daily (for 12 months) so people don't load up on assets before the snapshot and then dump them shortly after. 1,100,000 SPS tokens are split daily between all asset holders. The more assets you have, the more SPS you recieve. This airdrop hype has rose the price of all Splinterlands assets. The price of DEC has skyrocketed in the last few days and cards are being snatched up quickly to increase peoples collection power. Staking SPS tokens will allow you to participate in promotions and rewards you with bonuses. If you're curious how these assets are calculated, here's a table the splinterlands team has provided:

The airdrop only accounts for 13% of the total token supply.

Other ways tokens will be distributed are by:

• Ranked Battles
• SPS Staking Rewards
• LP Incentives
• Land Expansion
• Oracle Rewards
• Tournament Prizes
• Guild Brawls

All of these features are going to be slowly integrated into the Splinterlands game with the airdrop being the first exposure to SPS tokens. As of right now, staking will be available Monday, August 2nd as will SPS from ranked battles. This is what my first SPS airdrop day looked like:

I am VERY happy with 3 SPS on the first day. I don't have that much invested in the game so I don't expect to be getting as much as everyone else. I did happen to open some packs of untamed boosters when I started a couple months ago and pulled a few legendary/epic cards I am thinking about selling though.

If anyone more experienced reads this post, can you give me your opinion on this?

I have a Kron who is currently going for 80$. He was 10$ when I first opened him.
Should I sell Kron and buy gold foiled commons so I get more collection power for SPS airdrops?
Another option I was already considering before was selling him for 80 and holding onto that until the new set comes out in august sometime. I figure I could get a lot more collection power that way even if I am waiting a month if I save up all my alchemy potions til then.
