Splinterlands (formerly Steem Monsters) is a digital trading card game that combines elements from fantasy sports, strategy and role playing games for an enjoyable (and often profitable) gaming experience. Blockchain technology (made possible through HIVE) allows the cards to belong to you, the player. You can easily buy, sell, and rent cards for cryptocurrency.

i am a big fan of cryptogames and the idea of blockchain in general. lurking in the fields of cryptocurrencies these last years i´m always looking for new and/or exciting projects. When the creation of Hive happened and i saw STEEMMONSTERS migrate from STEEM to HIVE i finally started looking into this game. After i discovered splinterlands i was immediately hocked and in love with this beauty of a game. I would like to pass on this enthusiasm and therefore I wanted to start this blog series. It is especially designed for beginners to help them get into Splinterlands. In the first post i want to introduce myself and show off the starting cards you get .. So come along and follow me on my journey through the mythical lands of Kymeria, Azmare and Anumun

first things first, you start the game through creating a account on: https://splinterlands.com/

After that you can start playing the complete game right away. BUT you wont get DEC when fighting battles and you cant sell your starting cards. To get these features you will need a starter pack which costs $. I will use a promo code which is practicly the same but you cant sell your starter cards. You can get these from various places like youtuber, i found one under a reddit post ;)
