The Beauty Called The Hunter

Another one from the Canadian Mint today folks

This is a $30.00 2oz 99.9% pure silver beauty of a coin called The Hunter.
The gold plated parts make this a very striking coin indeed.
Priced at $299.95 CAD it is a steep buy and a massive premium but the looks alone make up for it I feel.
Would I buy it? Yes I would if I could afford it. Sadly I will be stuck a little longer buying cheaper 1oz coins for the time being```

Coming in at 62.694grams this is a fairly chunky one compares to what I am usually looking at.
A mintage of 4500 makes this an appealing coin to me for the low mint and the striking design.
I absolutely love this and am very jealous of you Canadians again for having access to some amazing coins!

The wood grain effect is inspired by the hand carved Western Red Cedar panels that the Kwakiutl artist Jason Henry Hunt makes.
The rope effect framing of the coin adds to it's striking beauty and really add a touch of class I feel.

The following picture is from his Instagram account over at:https://www.instagram.com/artsoftheraven/?hl=en-gb

The artwork this guy produces is amazing.

The Canadian Mint have chosen an amazing artist to follow for this beauty of a coin.

Here is the reverse which I was dreading.

I usually detest our Monarch's face on the coins but this is actually not a bad one indeed. Actually quite surprised that he looks fairly normal here. Again another impressive design.
I feel the gold plating really helps his look alive and not so wobbly!

These types of coins 99% of the time burn you when it's time to sell seen it many times at the shop folks brining in a bunch trying to get at least 50% of retail value 🤣 !DOOK

The Issue prices are always on the steep side but I can often pickup the older RCM products dated four to five years or more and able to get them around 25 to 35% off the original issue price, a patient waiting game and I used that strategy to get some of wonderfully designed coins. The RCM has been consistently great at innovative coin designs.

I only buy from shops, never from the mint, pretty much all canadian coins will sell for less on the secondary market. But, yes it is gorgeous.
