Trust The Soulbound Cards

Lost Legendaries.png

Yo guys, welcome back toto my Splinterlands Battle Mage Secret challenge. Same as yesterday, we still have this LOST LEGENDARIES ruleset as our main theme today.

The battle without any legendary units or monsters, that should be a bit lame isn't it? We won't see any spectacular unit that can carry his/her team alone, or a unit with distinctive abilities that will change the tide of the battles.

So in this post, I will share another of my tips, which is so common that not great however most people forget about it because it is not so flashy. It is about utilize some soulbound cards that can change the tide of the battles.

Soulbound cards or in the past they were rewards card edition, are cards that come as rewards from playing Splinterlands rank battle. The cards are not better or stronger than any edition whether it's a Chaos Legion, Rebellion, or any other set. However because they come independently, they usually have abilities that do not available in some edition. So in other word, they can make some edition become better by having other abilities or meta that is not there before.

In this battle I will pick this dude:

This card is funny, he have protect and repair but the problem is that he is a melee. so if you put him in front, it would be awkward because its the same you asking your support unit to be killed first. However... there are some ruleset that make him better, So let's see our battle then

THE BATTLE

~Click The Image Above To See the Full Battle~

This was a battle from silver league modern rank battle, as you can see both of us using Both of us used different element. Because this was a silver rank battle, we could say both of us were human, no bots, and I was very happy my opponent came with a line up with good or high level.

image.png

Up close and personal with lost legendaries... we would only see some slugfest here, no archers and mages. Anyway this turned out to be a good battle set up because both of us using different element and both of us using the strongest summoner we could get.

The funny thing was that both of us used same approach. Two tank at front, a support in the middle, and the backline attackers.

Let's see our battle then.

image.png

  • The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents. My team was focusing on offense, while their team was more on defense,
  • My opponent had 17 melee damage per round. That's a high fire power regarding they were more on defense.
  • My team had 13 melee damage per round. Funny wasn't it, the offensive one had lower fire power. You could thank to their Disintegrator demoralize ability for it.
  • I started the battle by an ambush there, but it was useless due to lack of melee damage.

image.png

  • There was a bug on the display, when you clicked back, it would not show round 2, instead it showed round 3. This was a bug from AMBUSH ability, the counter got mix up.
  • As you could see, I lost the first round, this made me started the second with 5 units.

image.png

  • Overall we were on stale on the 2nd round. I lost another unit, and they lost their tank, the Drybone Barbarian.
  • I could not breach their backline wall, the Dumacke Orc. It's too sturdy

image.png

  • Round 3 was a hard one for me, regarding I lost all my backline attackers. It left me with two units only on the start of round 4.
  • This was the start of my Ferox Defender Show time, together with the Forgotten one, they would start a come back run here.

image.png

  • My team was catching up, we were on 2 vs 3 on this point. Both of our units were on max health.
  • They managed to poison my Ferox Defender. this became a battle against time then

image.png

  • Round 6 started with 2 vs 2 now, and definitely my team looked like on the winning side

image.png

  • There were two units with retaliate ability, so this could became an instant slugfest and Good Game

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

Let's make this part short, who ran that show? the answer was soulbound cards!! I had ferox defender as my soulbound card and they had Dumacke Orc on their side.

image.png

That Dumacke Orc killed all my backline sneak attacker and my ferox defender made my Forgotten One unpenetrable which later he killed all of my opponent units.

If you could not have Legendary Units on the field, get a soulbound cards, set a meta that make them formidable. Individually they are not great, but with right team, right meta, and right ruleset, they become formidable.

Ok that's all for my battle mage secret post today, see you guys again on Splinterlands battlefields!!

I love Ferox Denfender, it's a great card and you just proved it right there. Some of the new soulbound cards are really cool and I use them all the time now!
