Splinterlands - DEC Price Struggles Benefits All (Weekly Post)

The continues decline in DEC price to Hive may not be ideal for holders of DEC. I for one have been hurting a bit as I have accumulated a decent sum of DEC. However as I look at it with a bit more I come to realize it is more beneficial as of now to have DEC at low prices. Here are my reasons.

New Player Adoption

The game has existed for more than 3 years and there are close to 6,000 active daily players. One way to increase more player to the game is to lower the initial cost to play. All new accounts now in order to be able to earn DEC tokens and rewards must spend $10 to buy a spell book.

There is the potential of exchanging DEC to buy the Spell book and since price of DEC is low it will cost less from new users to purchase.

Another benefit with lower DEC is in game markets the sale of cards are directly corresponding to price of DEC. Currently 1 DEC is close to $0.0007 but since it is cheaper to obtain DEC on Hive-engine more people can purchase enough DEC to exchange for in game cards.

The cost to buy and sell cards will result in DEC tokens hence the token is very useful for people playing the game. Currently I am holding my DEC in hopes that it will appreciate in value so that in the future I will be able to buy more cards.

In Game Purchases are on Sale

There are a lot of items in game that one can purchase with DEC.

There are card packs that require base DEC price such as Untamed at 2k DEC and Dice at 3k DEC respectively. These numbers are fixed but the price of DEC is not. Hence right now the overall price of Untamed and Dice packs are dropping at real value.

The card packs are at a fire sale. Establish players can add cards into their collections by purchasing cheap card packs.

Conclusions

There are plenty of benefits with a lower DEC token price. I can see it now and am happy to continue holding my share of the token. That way I have a few options to go moving forward. For instance buy card packs with the DEC if prices continue to fall. On the other hand if DEC prices rises due to demand I will be able to benefit from the appreciation. All good signs ahead.
