Splinterlands - My Alpha Journey (Weekly Post)

When I first started playing Splinterlands I got my spellbook that included a free booster pack for $5 Steem. I vividly remember this because at the time it took me a week to save that $5 of Steem and at the time Steem was higher than even where Hive prices are now. Higher than $0.60 per Steem. The reason I bring this up is to reflect how long it took me to purchase an Alpha Angel of Light 1 bcx. After several weeks of saving and flipping a couple of cards I took the leap of faith and picked up an Angel of Alpha for around 27,000 DEC or approximately $26.

With this purchase I am one step closer to having at minimum 1 bcx of each regular alpha card. The ones I am still missing is the Spirit of the Forest and Selenia Sky. I due have in my play deck the opportunity to play both of those alpha cards because I can borrow it from my guild but I have an end goal to own those two cards too.

Favoritism Towards Alphas

Since Splinterlands has come out with new cards the alpha set no longer are as competitive as in the past. Yet I started owning my first cards in alpha set and since then I have been patiently and slowly adding to my alpha collection.

Each alpha card provides +5% DEC bonus for every winning battle when it is used. With that I have spent months saving for the alpha cards knowing that they provide additional value when used in the game.

One strategic investment I had made when considering the DEC bonus was to get as many alpha summoners I possibly could. At the time I felt certain if Alpha cards would be used often in battle it would most often be alpha summoners. So I went purchasing summoners through the years.

The last time I was able to obtain an alpha summoner was more than six months ago. Today the competition to buy in the open market is fierce. Especially for alpha summoners. The lack of supply for sale does not help the cause either. I currently own (44) cards of alpha summoners where majority of them are level 3 summoners. I have a rental farm going on at peakmonster.com to rent out most of these alpha summoners but idea has been to save them in hopes to one day flip for stronger cards.

The time I have been focused on alpha summoners has caused me to miss out on alpha monsters. What I had for resources I had pretty much spent it on alpha summoners. Now I am on the path to finish collecting alpha monsters. What a journey it has been for me over the years. I am excited today that I bought an Angel of Light, but regret it had to be this long. The wait cost me in the form of more DEC as prices in alpha cards went parabolic.

Overall Card Market Cap:

I fear it will not take long before card prices climb even higher from here so although today I get to reflect on how far I have come, I have some unfinished business in alpha monsters. I am now saving up DEC and patiently waiting for the right opportunity to come along for me to purchase the missing alphas in my set.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

I have plenty of other cards for rent! Just go on peakmonsters and check out the market place and if you are curious what I offer here is a link:

Thanks but its not as powerful of a deck as you think. It is actually lower middle level. There are decks much much stronger. Have you played Splinterlands before? If so how is your collection going?

Actually I am just a new comer for just a month. Try to build up my deck and discover the game. Now the goal is to increase the DEC amount. My deck is mainly from rent card, so it is important to maintain a cash flow to hold my deck!

Yes that would be the case and I recommend making posts in the splinterlands community using tags #spt and #splinterlands so you earn HBD/HP from upvotes there. Accumulate the earnings and that is where you can spend to buy cards. I started out like that about two years ago and although not as much today I still post weekly to earn upvotes.
