Spinterland's Rent-A-Deck Project - Day 1

This is the first post on my new Splinterlands Rent-A-Deck Project. The goal of this project is to see how strong of a Spinterlands deck I can build just from the earnings on posting about this project and playing the game.

The Background

I've been playing Splinterlands since around December. I did some upgrading of my deck, but have been trying to mostly grow my deck organically. It has been a very slow process.

Recently I was exploring PeakMonsters' rental rates and was shocked by how low some of the rental rates are. That got me thinking, I wonder how good of a deck I could build using rental cards to boost my earnings.

The Project

My project is to take just the earnings from this series of posts and use them to rent the best deck I can. I will use that deck to compete at higher level leagues earning more DEC and quest rewards. I will keep any cards from quests but sell all DEC to continue to rent more and better cards.

The Goals

The primary goal of this project is to see how high I can climb in the Splinterlands game just from the earnings of this series of posts.

The secondary goal of this project is to improve my deck by increasing the quest rewards as a result of playing in higher leagues.

The tertiary goal is to have something fun to blog about. After all, aren't we all looking for something to post about?

The Starting Point

I'm currently stuck in Bronze I with about 1600 power to go to get to Silver III. I have a decent fire and water deck (for Bronze I anyway).

The Strategy

I plan to sell all the tokens this series of posts earns to generate HIVE for use in the rental market.

I'm going to focus on building up a couple of strong splinters, probably fire and water. I also want to get a good Dragon summoner and some dragon cards too.

I will try and get the best cards I can at the lowest rate to maximize my power.

I will start out with shorter term rentals but if I find a great deal I will tie it up for a longer period.
