The whole family went on a dog walk today

This is Stella wondering where my wife was. Stella and I were waiting outside and apparently it was taking too long for Stella. She was whining and kind of trying to look around the corner at the side door. She came out and we went, though we cut it a little shorter than the walks that Stella and I usually go on. It's been pretty hot and we waited a little too long in the day to go out too long. Stella gets hot really fast considering she's completely black from head-to-toe and can't sweat.

When I say "the whole family" went for a walk, what I really mean is that instead of just me and Stella, my wife was also there. That's the whole family.

Not a whole heck of a lot other than that

That's what Sundays are for, I suppose. I could've tagged along to a beer garden today, but because I'm only about three weeks into not consuming alcohol, I don't really want to put myself in that situation just yet. One of the times in the past that I broke a long streak of not drinking was at this particular beer garden, too. The urge to drink gets really strong when it's in a park and it's outdoors and the weather is mostly nice. Someday, I'll be able to tag along without it being a problem (hopefully) but for now, I have to just do what feels right.

Splinterlands update

As part of my ongoing quest to max out some remaining Untamed cards, I got the rest that I needed of the Cave Slug card. This is another card that gains an ability at max level. Now it will slow down the enemies monsters. That's a pretty good card. 4 is a heft attack, opportunity can be deadly, and scavenge when it already has a life of 6 can come in handy for certain rules. Obviously, I'll just be putting it up for rent.

@golden-fang has made it to the Gold III League finally!

This was my goal yesterday, but I never quite made it. I finally made it today after a stroke of good luck for a while. I keep renting more cards all the time. I have basically spent all of the earnings that @golden-fang has gotten to rent cards, but I'm proud I could make it to Gold by just renting cards that way. We'll see how much further I can make it before the end of the season. If I luck out and get some really good rewards, that will increase my chances because then I would have a lot more to spend on rentals. It costs a lot more to get max level cards if we're talking Diamond League. Realistically, you don't need all of your cards to be max level to play in the Diamond League. Some cards are more useful than others at lower levels.

Here's me in my nerdy hat on our walk this morning.

I don't have a lot of natural sun protection on my head these days and I'm not really looking to impress anyone, so I just wear big-brimmed nerdy hats when I'm out on a sunny day. At least this time of year.
