Hello beautiful people! I hope you are well! Today I will share with you a new drawing for the @Splinterlands art contest. This contest is done weekly and you can do anything artistic related to the game. What I usually do is to take a card from the game as a reference and make it in my style. The card I chose for this week was Blood Maker, I saw it a bit simple and I wanted to see how I could do it.
Hola gente bonita! Espero estén bien! El día de hoy les compartiré un nuevo dibujo para el concurso de arte de @Splinterlands. Dicho concurso de hace semanalmente y puedes hacer cualquier cosa artística referente al juego. Yo lo que suelo hacer es tomar como referencia una carta del juego y hacerla a mi estilo. La carta que escogí para esta semana fue la de Blood Maker, la vi algo simple y quise ver como podía hacerla.
To start making the sketch I had the task of thinking of a good pose or general composition of the character, since my idea was to make it a bit grotesque, like those illustrations that are in gore style, where there is blood in between. Then I came up with the idea of making the character as if he was tasting the blood from one of his hands and in the other he would have what would be the bomb as in the original illustration.
Para comenzar a hacer el boceto me dí la tarea de pensar en una buena pose o composición general del personaje, ya que mi idea era hacerlo un poco grotesco, como esas ilustraciones que son en estilo gore, donde hay sangre de por medio. Entonces se me ocurrió hacer el personaje como si estuviese saboreando la sangre de una de sus manos y en la otra tendría lo que vendría siendo la bomba como en la ilustración original.

I struggled a little with the sketch, because it was hard to do, I had to take several pictures to have them as a reference and to help me with the general idea of the drawing. The only thing I didn't do in my drawing was to make that long beard that the original character has, which I didn't like at all. Once I had the sketch finished, I went to see the color palette of the original drawing so I could put together everything that would become the color work.
Batalle un poco con el boceto, porque me costo hacerlo, tuve que tomarme varias fotos para así poder tenerlas como referencia y que me ayudaran con la idea en general del dibujo. Lo único que no hice en mi dibujo fue hacerle esa barba larga que tiene el personaje original, la cual no me gustaba para nada. Una vez tuve el boceto finalizado, me fui a ver la paleta de color del dibujo original y así poder armar todo lo vendría a ser el trabajo de color.

Having all the color work done, the next thing I went to do was the final details such as shadows, lineart and some white highlights. For the color work I used watercolor and textile paint, which are my favorite materials to work with and I'm not telling, so an apology. For the final details like the shadows and the linear, I use ink and the final details in white; cold paint. To give the final touch to the drawing, what I do is to give it some color details with wood colors and that's it, that would be all.
Teniendo todo el trabajo de color hecho, lo siguiente que me fui a hacer fueron los detalles finales como las sombras, linear y algunos brillos en blanco. Para el trabajo de color use acuarelas y pintura textil, los cuales son mis materiales favoritos para trabajar y no lo digo, así que una disculpa. Para los detalles finales como las sombras y el linear, uso tinta y los detalles finales en blanco; pintura al frió. Para darle el ultimo toque final al dibujo, lo que hago es darle algunos detalles de color con colores de madera y listo, eso seria todo.

Eso es muy cierto! Siempre he dicho que si dibujas para algo en específico como un concurso o solo por ti mismo en algún trabajo original, lo importante de todo siempre es disfrutar de tu trabajo. Mientras te cientas bien con lo que hagas, no importa si ganas o no algo, porque al final te sientes bien con tu trabajo y no necesitas la maldición de nadie para sentirte elogiado jejeje 😊😊😊
