CUB and DEC - What To Do

The first of what I believe many new farms and features is coming to CUBdefi.io

In roughly 47 hours from this post a new FARM will be shown on the CubFinance platform. That farm being DEC-BUSD which means you'll need to get some BUSD on the Binance network. For me this is kind of a tedious process in which I need to get BNB and then covert it over to BUSD which then I can put it into a farm. It's about 3-4 transactions worth so it costs me around $1+ to do all of this. Still far less than Ethereum but I still wish there was a lower cost way to covert between these other tokens. That may come in time.

If you're not sure what DEC is it's a currency that is used on the game called Splinterlands Click the link to check it out. It's free to join up and runs on the HIVE blockchain.

Decisions To Make

About two months ago after I invested in my first land on Splinterlands I decided I wanted to save up my DEC for a Track of land which is 100 plots plus a keep. It comes with a hearty price tag of $1,700 or 1,700,000 DEC.

As of today I have saved up 1,030,000 DEC and suspected that by the next 30 days I should have enough!

But then comes along news of DEC being added to CUB and now I WANT MORE CUB!

Do I now instead of saving up for a track of land in game go for framing about $1,000 worth in CUB or perhaps do a 80/20 split. hhmmmm

One of the big reasons I've been shooting for the Keep is because during the raffle I ended up landing a legendary totem of which there are only 200 of those in game ever!

CUBDeFi DEC Farm

The thing we need to remember however is with any Farm on DeFi you run the risk of impermanent loss.

What Is Impermanent loss?

Impermanent loss happens when you provide liquidity to a liquidity pool and the price of your deposited assets changes compared to when you deposited them. The bigger the change the bigger your impermanent loss. It simply means less dollar value from when you deposited to when you withdraw.

However this can be offset by fees on the system in which provide those that give liquidity to the platform a chance to profit.

I highly recommend doing some google searching into Impermanent loss before getting involved. There are some excellent write ups such as this one here

Why this is big for LEOFinance and CubDeFi

Simply put exposure!

Last I checked there are about 1,500 people roughly using LeoFinance.io (not sure how many use CUBDefi.io)

However people that invest in crypto games such as splinterlands most of them also use Binance as well as being "investors" themselves so it makes sense to connect the two.

Not only that but over 6,000 people currently play Splinterlands on a daily basis. That's exposure to an additional 4,000+ people for both platforms. (Still small potatoes but it's the right move I think) More exposure for any of these platforms is powerful and something we as article writers and investors in LEO should be doing daily ourselves.

I believe it's worth locking the LP, the cub you will earn in one month can be used to buy DEC and you can reach your tract target more closely. If you are in for long run there won't be much impermanent loss, also considering both are sable coin. DEC is also pegged to 1$ so there won't be much loss but just due to DEC price fluctuation.

This is true I'd need to move a decent amount of BNB to pick up BUSD to do so. It would give me a sizeable stake though and CUB is still early in the game. I'd get around 3-4 days of 2 CUB per block before it changes to 1 as well.

I feel the same and not sure I can be bothered to be honest. 😂

I'm hoping this will raise the price of DEC a bit so I can sell some and buy some more LEO. I'm not sure I want to risk ending up with even more DEC by entering a pool.

Great Pareto statement and an excellent insight!
I think Splinterlands somehow accepted Paypal...if so, I might jump in at some point.

good to read a well-done article and to improve my knowledge since i'm new here

Thank you for a coherent piece of work, @bitcoinflood.

They do but I think it's only to buy packs I could be wrong though as I haven't ventured much into paypal with splinterlands.
