Putting DEC to good use at CubFinance farm

There were some spare $DEC in @spliterlands which were transferred to my BSC wallet via the new functionality inside the game.

For the fun of it, I decided to use them half-directly in the *DEC-BUSD LP farm.

Half because I will buy $BUSD with half of $DEC in store.

Let's document the steps with $DEC already in @cubfinance.

1. buy $BUSD with $DEC

fee: 0.00112312 $BNB ($0.31)

2. add liquidity to receive LP tokens

fee: 0.0018332 $BNB ($0.50)

3. use LP tokens in farm

I already have a tiny amount of LP tokens in the DEC-BUSD LP. Adding newly acquired tokens will automatically provoke the harvest of $CUB.

Adding LPs

fee: 0.00118519 $BNB ($0.32)
harvested: 0.774 $CUB ($2.27)

These are tiny amounts and the farm widget displays 0 LPs. Still, they are there and working for me.

Conclusion

Around $1.1 in fees to put around $17 worth of $DEC to good use. Of course, it helps when absolute figures are bigger yet every little bit counts :)

You seem to be able to do that with a cheaper fee than me? what was the gas price? 10 Gwei?

I have often wondered how when I see gas prices on BSCscan that the minimum is sometimes less than 10, but whenever I change it to less than 10 it always fails.

No idea. I don't ask nor meddle with gas prices. I just pay them.

Every time I start questioning about the price, I remember Ethereum gas prices, I stop wondering and start smiling :)

I got my extra DEC into the farm while the 0 fees was on. So that's step 1. Now I have to learn when to harvest that CUB and what to do with it. 😂

You can harvest CUB any time. And pay the transaction fee which is around $0.3 so ...

Yet, then you can reinvest harvested CUB into a den or a farm. And pay some fees again :)

We mustn't forget that this is BSC and not HIVE without the fees.

I'm learning that pretty quickly. There are fees everywhere in CubDefi! 😂

I won't be harvesting or staking too frequently.

Yes, exactly. I ran out of BNB yesterday and I couldn't pay the fee. It was quite troublesome to refill the BNB part of my BSC wallet ...

I've left a bit of DEC in Metamask so when I run out of BNB I'll be able todo a swap on CubDefi. At least that's the plan. Time will tell! 😁

I tried something similar yesterday. I tried to swap CUB to BNB. No luck. In the end, I bought it at BInance and transferred it over to CubFinance.

Oh. That's a pain. I hope when the time comes I'll be able to swap DEC to BNB. I swapped to BUSD OK so . . . fingers crossed. 😁

How did you get the BNB to metamask? I wrapped some Leo to bLeo but I can't do anything further because I can't pay the gas fees :(

Transferred it from Binance to BSC. You have to choose the right chain with the withdrawal.

cheers my friend, that was the most frustrating part. I thought that I could sell bLeo to get BNB for gas but it doesn't work this way. However thanks to your post I'm finally in the DeFi world :)
