Vruz - The Promo Card that Wiped Away the DEC-B Extra Bonus via Vouchers
Some time ago, there was a DAO proposal voted in that requested the Splinterlands team to create a promo card for SPS holders:
The SPS DAO requests the Splinterlands company make a promo card to reward SPS Stakers. Each SPS staker would be allowed to purchase 1 card per 1,000 SPS staked for the nominal fee of 1 voucher per card.
Here's the full text of the proposal which passed at the time.
The Splinterlands team agreed and looks like very soon we'll have Vruz, a common promo card that can be purchased by SPS holders in the limit of 1 card per 1,000 staked and costing 1 voucher per card.
We know the character Vruz, it's the little guy that moves his legs and carries a bag when you claim your SPS. This one:
But we don't know the stats for the card yet or its art, as far as I know.
What happened though, expectedly, was that the price of vouchers started to climb from the hole it was in.
That's great for the holders of vouchers.
Not so great for people who were using the lower price of vouchers as a way to get more DEC-B by burning VOUCHERs instead of DEC. I was one of them.
Now the amount of DEC-B received has almost equalized if one burns vouchers or DEC, so it doesn't matter as much. I wished the window lasted a little longer, but I would be a hypocrite to complain. I took advantage of it while it lasted.
Now it's time to get ready for Vruz. Hopefully, it will have some nice stats, so we can enjoy the benefits of holding a nice stash of staked SPS.

To have a max-level Vruz minted directly and not purchased from others one needs 400000 staked SPS, which is a lot, indeed.

Does it still depend on a snapshot of staked SPS and when will the snapshot happen?
This is an excellent question. If we had the answer to this we would know how much liquid SPS to hold for the uptick in price of SPS.

I think it's nice to see the price of VOUCHERS go up and I was planning to convert them into DEC-B later. It means I'll be able to get some more due to the VOUCHERS price. I wasn't planning to change DEC into VOUCHERS so it doesn't affect me much.

If you already have vouchers, their price won't influence the number of DEC-B you'll receive by burning them (it's a fixed number: 1 DEC-B per 0.005 vouchers) unless the VOUCHER price goes up enough that it becomes more profitable to burn DEC for DEC-B. If, on the other hand, you purchased vouchers every day to burn for DEC-B for the extra discount, the price increase isn't great.
