The DEC pool FLIPPENING (Took 3 hours)

JUST 3 HOURS!!

In almost exactly 3 hours there is a new leader in DEC pools.
Uniswap pools have existed for many months now
There was even an edition of a second uniswap pool for DEC-DAI a while back.

But in just 3hrs of a pool being created on BSC (Binance Smart Chain) and rewards being offered by a CubDefi farm and all of a sudden the BSC pool is now the big man on campus.

WHY?

Speed and Fees with a healthy helping of incentives is my guess. Here are some speculation why.

  1. More splinterlands users can cheaply add to the BSC pool considering fees are significantly lower the whole process to get DEC to a Cub farm is around $1
  2. Bigger rewards right now at 900% apr will attract more people for sure and considering there is a limited number of DEC available AND dec has a soft peg it means the pool will likely never get terribly large meanining APR may be pretty competitive among the Cub farms
  3. Uniswap pool users (like myself) probably have had many months feeling trapped by the ethereum blockchain not feeling like the could easily move in or out of their pools so leaving ethereum and migrating probably lets them feel like they are more free.
  4. New players in the pool... aka lots of CUB farmers are willing to buy up some DEC to diversify into the pool.
  5. People buying/swapping DEC from the BSC pool for reasons other than adding to pool. Now we have a system that players and market buyers can get DEC with less fees. But to be fair the Diesel pool was already the easiest and cheapest alternative.

COST TO GET INTO A FARM - APPENDIX 1

Looks like it's about $1.20 to exchange tokens and enter a pool then farm

  1. Step 1: Move DEC to BSC = No Fee
    Done on splinterlands.com
  2. Step 2: Exchange half of dec to BUSD = ~$0.35
Right now the exchange rate is great and slippage is getting less and less as pool grows
  3. Step 3: Add liquidity to DEC-BUSD = ~$0.40
  4. Step 4: Add liquidity to DEC-BUSD farm = ~$0.40
  5. If you want to harvest CUB and put it back into a CUB den i calculated that at $0.678 for the two transactions needed so probably good to wait until you have a few CUB.

NEXT STEP DIESEL

If you want to get DEC you have the Diesel Pool already running which is actually the fastest and cheapest way for DEC users to get DEC. However if you're getting A LOT of DEC then the slippage is much higher on that pool.

In any case it will be interesting to see the BEE reward incentives for Diesel pools coming up.

But for now i certainly use Diesel to swap hive to dec

Fascinating, I also think one of the main reasons are fees, nobody wants to pay a hefty 100$ fee for staking 100-200$. But unfortunately fees on BSC could be even lower, if it were possible to set a custom fee. At the moment I get an error message when I try to set a fee on CubDefi: https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@vikisecrets/cub-finance-i-get-the-following-error-if-i-try-to-set-the-gas-fee-below-10-gwei

Yeah i changed it from 10gwei to 9 and got an error... so i'm guessing there is no option to change it? But 80 cents is digestible and 40 cents to swap tokens is also ok if you're dealing in something in the 3 figure amount.
For uniswap it seemed like you needed to be dealing with close to 5 figures.

so up the top it has $188k , but below DEC/ETH - 277k ?

yeah i don't understand what that means to be honest. haha
I went with the thing that said "Total" figured it was a pretty authoritative statement. haha

Either way probably will beat both things by end of day

I looked into it a bit more and i think perhaps the real amount is 277k+94K
Which is now already down to 259+94

So looks like the whole premise of my post is a lie? hahaha
there is probably 350k of liquidity on uniswap and 220k on BSC/Cubdefi (but that's only what is in the cubdefi farm and does not represent the full liquidity pool... which i'm unfamiliar with how to see)
