The Play2Earn Report - Taking A Break

avatar

I currently have an immense workload at the office which kept me on my toes most week. Because of this, I sadly didn't have much time for the crypto world and thus there's not that much to report this week. Because of this, this week's Play2Earn Report is going to be a bit more on the short side with only quick updates on my projects. Things should settle back in soon, so I hope to be back with a full update next week.

Most of my earnings have been reinvested this week with only small amounts of Hive powered up, so I'm now sitting at 5.381 Hive Power which is a plus of about 70 Hive compared to last week.

Rabona

Rabona launched last Friday and I jumped right into the fray. The game is already really polished and I immensely enjoy the management aspect it has to offer. I did a lot of arbitrage in the first days and managed to draft a team with an overall strength of about 50. I found 9 Refs for the game, which netted me a total of 225,000 RBN which is worth 2,25$ - quite a nice bonus!

I had a great start and won my first 5 games straight. Ever since, things have been going a lot worse, though. I lost most of my games, even against teams with 15+ average overall strength less compared to mine.

I'm now just above the line for going down a league and I hope to somehow be able to stay in the league. Since there are 4 slots going down and only one going up it would be pretty hard to recover from that and move back to the 2nd league next season.

While I have no issue with loosing matches and it's expected in football to loose to weaker teams sometimes, it's a little annoying that I don't get any indication about what went wrong in these games. This is something Rabona will need to improve but I'm sure that's already on the list of features they want to add to the game.

Nevertheless, the game is really solid and I'd highly encourage everybody to give it a shot. I'll do another dedicated post on the game once the first season concluded and I find the time to write it.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands has been going really good for me. I missed the top 40 in Diamond because I kept playing instead of keeping my score. I would probably have won 5 packs if I had time to play at the end of season but I had to work, so there was no chance for me to do so.

Untitled.png

Nevertheless, I'm going to compete in Diamond again this season and I'm hopeful to win some Untamed packs this time around.

I'm finally having more luck with my referrals for Splinterlands as I now have 3 active refs that bought their spellbook and booster packs. It's a great feeling to wake up to some extra Credits added to your account. Once they figure out their onboarding program, I'll try to push for more referrals.

I'm still collecting DEC as much as I can and am now sitting at a total of 386,000 DEC. According to Splinterland's last post, the land presale is going to be in early November now, so I still have a whole month to get up to 850,000 DEC. It's going to be hard, but I'll try to get as close as possible.

In terms of renting, I now have 35 cards rented out. I had to stop offering more cards because it would reduce my Power Level back to Gold I so for now, this is all I can offer on the market. After the land presale I'll work on growing my collection again, so this should help me to get into higher leagues and/or rent out more cards.

Cryptobrewmaster

Cryptobrewmaster is having huge issues with multi-accounts and bots right now. This led to some severe changes in the games economy which are currently implemented. Long term, most issues will be resolved by making the game more complex and offering more ways to reinvest CBM. For now, I'll hold on to everything I acquire ingame and see how things develop.

That's not to say that I have any doubt in the game's success, though. Cryptobrewmaster is going to become one of the leading blockchain games, it only needs more time to develop everything the game needs. I also found 11 new refs and am now sitting at a total of 214 players brought to the game. I'm really happy with that increase because I didn't even make a dedicated post about the game this week, yet new players still use my Ref-Links.

Rising Star

Rising Star is having similar issues as Cryptobrewmaster. With these games becoming more and more successful, there are more and more people trying to abuse them for some fast earnings. I made an article on the recent changes and I'm slowly adapting to the new reality.

My earnings amount to about 30,000 Starbits daily and at the moment most of what I earned is going directly back to the game. I'm already rather confident with my new approach and I plan to make a separate post on it once I'm sure it's working the way I hope.

There are probably more changes coming soon, though. As with Cryptobrewmaster, it's probably best to just sit back and see where things are going to end up in some weeks. But just as well, I'm completely convinced that Rising Star will continue to grow and will be around for a long time to come.

eXode

As expected, eXode released its first test build for Version E and it's looking amazing. The scope of the game has increased a lot from what we've seen initially. I would advise against playing it just yet unless you want to actively help its development and give active feedback on the items tested, though.

versionE_crewReview_preparation.png

The next weeks will see several iterations of the testbuild and once these tests are complete, the game will launch into a regular Alpha with rewards and everything. I have several promotions planned for when that happens, but until then I'll only sell some cards from my contract on the market. These sales amounted to about 50 Hive this week which is still rather nice.

Holybread

Nothing to report on Holybread, the new version has not been released yet and I'm slowly building up my hero. I should be able to acquire a second hero this week so I'll see how much that's going to help me.

arena.png

I kept climbing the arena ladder as well but I'm now in an area where everybody has way stronger heroes than myself so I don't see myself getting much higher anytime soon.

Conclusion

And that's already everything I have to report this week. Thank you for sticking with me anyway and hopefully next week will be back to normal again. Have a great weekend and see you all next time!

Your current Rank (112) in the battle Arena of Holybread has granted you an Upvote of 24%

The Rabona Discord server has had a good discussion on the "Why I Lost This" issue:

  1. Your players might have low formation experience
  2. Their players might have higher effective OS than shown if they are off their position label but on a position their skills fit for.

Interesting, thank you for the advise!
I'd think it's 1) then, some of my players are rather bad at 4-3-3 shockingly. So that's where my training is going to go for now :-D

Interesting to note your point about keeping playing in Splinterlands.

I noticed this season, I was playing in last hour in Champions league, just to complete a quest... really easy.

As soon as the next season started, and I'm demoted, I just lose lose lose.

I can GUARANTEE you this: those players are getting in early, they'll get their 4000 points or whatever it is they guess they'll need to sit at the top of the leaderboard and then just STOP.

The game needs a points decay system introducing for every 24 hours you don't play, or something along those lines.

The game is the same, but I find it just pathetic how very large powered accounts are gaming it for the sake of a few BETA packs.

I agree, the system seems somewhat broken as it is. I'd much prefer to have some kind of tournament for the prices in the end - like everybody who manages to reach ranking XXX at least once is entered into the end of season tournament.

Make it a Swiss style so you get to play your games no matter what and have at least a single pack as reward for everybody who made it there. Would feel a lot more rewarding to me than the current system.

Hey friend I like so much this post! Why you not tell nothing about dCity?

To tell the truth, I've never gotten into it. I know it's doing rather good but I'm reluctant to do the early investment.

I noticed this week that with Cryptobrewmaster that selling beer earns very little cbm tokens in comparison to previous weeks. Was there an official release by the developers communicating this change?

Only in their Discord as far as I'm aware of. They had a lot of issues with multi accounts coming from Google sadly.

I hear you, real work sometimes has to be focused on. Nice to see we play similar games. On this message I have to comment only (even i am frustrated myself) - if you know all reasons why it would be boring too as everyone follow the secret of success.

While I have no issue with loosing matches and it's expected in football to loose to weaker teams sometimes, it's a little annoying that I don't get any indication about what went wrong in these games. This is something Rabona will need to improve but I'm sure that's already on the list of features they want to add to the game.

What I'd love to see is some kind of play-by-play presentation like the old German Football Managers (Anstoss / Hattrick) did it. So you'd get some presentation like "player XX is dashing through midfield...(speed test)...he outruns his opponent. He's looking to pass (pass test)... and the pass goes nowhere.

So no actual information on the percentage or the tests that were rolled, but just some general information what the players where doing and where it all went wrong.
