Splinterlands plots priced at $11.40 - that's cheaper than pre-sale 2 already!

I had a feeling the secondary market would drag the prices of LAND down to around $10 a plot (the same price as you would have paid for one plot in the first presale given the (somewhat optimistic) nominal standard pricing of $20 a plot.

The current pricing on Hive-Engine is $9.50

OK the above figure of $9.50 is based on only a handful of trades, so it is very early days, and I'm guessing it's someone whose bought an entire region at a further 25% discount in presale one whose offloading a few plots at just above their cost price of $7.50 a unit - still not a bad quick return of around 20%!

And if you factor in the price the original buyer paid for DEC, which could have been half the price again, an even better return!

So this is a potential win-win for the region seller and those lucky people who missed out on plots in pre-sales one and two.

The current lowest sell point is $11.40, highest buy point quite a lot less!

ATM there's a lot more sells than buys, but I guess that's because potential buyers probably spend less time glued to Hive-Engine than propsective sellers - it'll be interesting to see how the price finds itself over the coming weeks and months.

As it stands you can currently get a better dollar deal on Hive-engine than you'll be able to get on pre-sale 3 - IF you were to buy in dollars - if you've already got the DEC kicking about, or if you're planning on buying DEC to purchase LAND from the source, you might get it cheaper.

No tracts or regions up for sale yet, but if all you want is a plot, this is certainly an option to consider.

Personally I'm going to wait. If I had $7500 locked up in land I'd want to get rid of at least some of that as a hedge and so I could get some more ETH/ BTC etc. before it really goes to the moon - I think those buy orders might even just sell!

Thank you to the Splinterlands team for giving the finger to the middle classes in the first land sale, otherwise I'd be stuck with a tract!

The young socialist in me is kicking and screaming but I've got to say it: when I see this kind of price-discovery going on, I love markets!

LOL! That last line says it all. And I was worried when I saw the $905 GAS fee when I tried to buy a plot a few weeks ago. My how things change! :)

Nope. I was trying to transfer $17 in ETH to Splinterlands, when the charge of $905 came up. Of course, I declined, so the ETH sits there unmovable. These crazy fees have been posted about lately.

I'd taken some BAT and bought ETH and was trying to spend some of it in the Splinterlands store.

Jesus - It's not worth moving ETH in such small quantities - at lest $100 worth at a time!

Hopefully 2.0 will sort this out.

At least it saved you from buying expensive LAND!

Frankly speaking , I am expecting that price can go below the first presale in open market.

Big whales hoarded the DEC for 40 cents only (against the soft peg of $1), Again they get 25% off on region purchase that make it just $3 payment from them for each plot. Even selling it for $5 they are still making 60% profit and beating the first presale by 50%.
