Taking A Look At King Arthur 1oz Silver Coin

Afternoon Folks

Today I am taking a look at a coin that I am very desperate to add to my growing collection.

It is the King Arthur 1oz Silver Coin from The Royal Mint.

It has the late Queen Elizabeth II on the back.

It is part of the Myths and Legends collection which I currently own the Robin Hood 1oz Silver coin of that collection.

I got into silver stacking after joining the @silvergoldstackers community. They gave me the idea to start stacking for my children's future.

My son is named after the King Arthur stories and this is a fitting coin to add to the collection in preparation for when he is alot older that I pass these down to him.

Now onto the rather annoying part. This coin is selling around the $47.80 mark which is a veryyyyy hefty premium which at the moment I am not willing to pay. It just seems highly extortionate which seems to be a common theme with The Royal Mint's coin collections.

especially considering there are a further 2 coins that I want to buy in the same collection. This makes buying them complicated as it will easily reach over $150+ just for the 3 coins.

I know that a premium is added from The Royal Mint but we are talking nearly double the silver spot price which is harsh in my eyes.

Alas I will let this coin further allude me for a bit longer. But I will add this to the collection one day solely for sentimental reasons which as we know always comes with a premium!

Onto the current collection which still sadly stands at 4 1oz silver coins so far.
I am currently waiting on 2 Maples to arrive from Spain which seem to be taking a rather long time to arrive.

My fear is Royal Mail have gotten their hands on the package and 'misplaced' it like they usually do.
Currently waiting on over £400 of packages to be delivered by them that have all been lost in the post. Utter madness.
If I do cave in and buy this coin I really hope it doesn't come by Royal Mail or il never see it!

It's always hard on collectible coins. They're always priced at a premium.

On an unrelated note, don't forget to cite sources for your images. 😉
