Splinterlands - Child of the Forest (Weekly Battle Post)

Another Untamed card I have not used or own but for the sake of participating in this week's battle post I purchased one. At first glace the card is a range attack so likely fit in the middle or rare of formation. The low mana requirement and snipe ability at level 1 is also attractive. Here is one battle I had using the Child of the Forest. Enjoy!

The Battle

The rule sets are Heavy Attack and Earthquake. With a low mana of 21 and all splinters allow to be used except for life and death. I lean toward earth splinter as I have decent flying monsters with earth splinter. I could have went with water but since there is the rule set Heavy Attack I lean toward melee attack rather than magic.

My Formation

I started with Nectar Queen as my tanker followed up by Earth Elemental, Child of the Forest, and end with Enchanted Pixie and Furious Chicken. It was only after I executed the formation did I rethink and believe I should have put Enchanted Pixie ahead of Earth Elemental since range attack will be useless if it was in the lead position.

My Opponent's Formation

My opponent uses a level 4 Daria with a decent group of alpha gold monsters. They lead off with Cocatrice and follow up by Giant Roc, Enchanted Pixie, and end with Ooze, Goblin Shaman and Fire Beetle. The tanker could have been stronger since its only level 1, but Roc, Shaman, and Beetle are at level 4. Formation is filled and so my opponent has the advantage of 6 vs 5.

The Battle Results

The battle turned out to be really a battle against Earthquake. My Nectar Queen was doing its job holding tanker position all throughout the battle. The Earthquake killed most of my monsters and my opponent's. If you are interested in watching the match here is a link..

I almost always feel like the earthquake ruleset is simply a battle against the earthquake. 🤣

You are now the 2nd person (in a row) whose put a heavy tank in first and a ranged right behind! I gotta start trying this!
I suppose I always put my ranged as far back as possible, hoping to let them live and be able to attack longest... So many variables!

I also like how you include your lineup (with card images) and your opponents.
