Splinterlands Helping Out Hive

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

The game Splinterlands is getting a lot of attention of late. We are seeing the blockchain gaming field growing. At the same time, the #play2earn idea is starting to take hold.

In this video I discuss how everyone should be happy with the idea of what Splinterlands is doing. Being a layer 2 application, it is feeeding a lot of transactions into Hive. At the same time, it sent the number of account signups through the roof (at least for Hive). All of this helps every single holder of HIVE.

I started playing Splinterlands on 2018.12.30. Nowadays I play it mostly on my smartphone (currently a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite). Their Android mobile app is quite good. I gladly recommend it. You can play it anywhere on the go (where there is either mobile internet access, or Wi-Fi internet access).

That is great. I read about many who will get a couple battles in here and there as they are going about their day.

Splinterlands is definitely helping Hive. Besides the split story, I don't remember anything else creating such interest for Hive, even indirectly. But I'm sure some serious people will be looking at Hive too, the more scalable Splinterlands turns out to be.

Income and games. The market wants this. Not trashy gambling Tron dapps that create nothing. :)

Yep. This is the MO that needs to be followed. It will be the layer 2 applications that garner the attention. That is what will attract new users.

Ten years from now we will be in the position of "do anything to earn" thanks to blockchain. Although I haven't tried splinterlands I clearly see it as a good marketing way for Hive. Hopefully we will have more such as examples. Nevertheless, Hive is maturing and becoming an "Ethereum killer" and that's something not many are talking about.

I am not sure it will take 10 years. We are still early in the game and already thousands are seeing their financial futures change.

Give it another couple years and we will find a lot of great things on here.

It seems to be growing but the price of things are exploding due to the demand. I remember seeing something similar related to Alien World tools when it exploded on WAX. There just isn't enough cards for the people to buy.

Well there are always enough cards available if you offer enough money. That is where the game scarcity enters.

Either way, there are a lot of ways to financially benefit off @splinterlands, even I can see that.

Whereas I never actually got into playing the game, I loved the whole idea from the start, and saw its potential as a digital version of MTG, which even now has 35 million players, 28 years after its start.

It's definitely good for Hive... and — at least in an indirect way — remains the only way you can directly buy into Hive with a debit or credit card, or PayPal.

The cool thing about it is that its distribution is primary gaming, rather than — pardon the expression — "blockchain geekery." And that is what it takes to get Hive on the map.

=^..^=

Agreed. It is really a fantastic way to get people interested. You are right, most are not going to take the time to understand the ins and outs of Hive. They will take the time to figure out a game though.

Summary:
In this video, the speaker discusses how Splinter Lands, a blockchain-based game, has had a significant impact on the Hive blockchain ecosystem. Splinter Lands recently launched a governance token through an airdrop, leading to a surge in transaction volume, which elevated Hive's ranking on Blocktivity. The speaker emphasizes the scalability of the Hive blockchain and highlights the importance of focusing on building a strong community within projects like Splinter Lands. He explains how Splinter Lands' success benefits the entire Hive ecosystem by attracting more users, increasing activity, and indirectly driving traffic and attention to other Hive-based projects.

Detailed Article:
The speaker opens by introducing the topic of Splinter Lands and its interaction with the Hive blockchain. Splinter Lands has undergone an airdrop or is in the process of conducting one to distribute its new governance token, a move that signifies a significant milestone for the game. The video delves into the impact of blockchain gaming on Splinter Lands, leading to a substantial increase in transaction volume. A report cited in the transcript reveals that Splinter Lands processed over 2 million transactions in a single day, elevating Hive's standing on Blocktivity to number 7.

The video emphasizes the scalability of the Hive blockchain, contrasting it with other blockchains struggling to handle high transaction volumes. The speaker applauds the Hive blockchain's ability to scale efficiently and affordably, attributing this to the development team's optimization efforts since the hard fork from Steam in March. The scalability of the blockchain is crucial in accommodating the growing user base and transaction throughput.

Furthermore, the video discusses how Splinter Lands' success is driving sign-ups on Hive, evidenced by a significant increase in new accounts following Splinter Lands' recent activities.
