A Quiet Reset, Not Noise

It is a norm over here that just a few minutes, or let me even say hours, before the crossover here in Nigeria, there used to be a lot of noise from fireworks and even prayers that most of the churches pray into the new year. Unlike before, when I usually made different resolution, this year I just want a new start both outside and also inside.

Unlike chasing and going after many things at once, I have decided to start going at my pace, and I have also decided to stay focused and do one thing at a time and also slow down by taking one step at a time.

Instead of spending anyhow like before, I have also planned to be prudent in how I spend, not because I want luxury, but because I have decided to choose peace over all. I will definitely have some savings, then I will also spend some and I will not allow anyone to put pressure on me because things are difficult enough.

I have already started some of these things, but this year I want to be more intentional about keeping my mind and not comparing myself with others. I will also continue avoiding all the social media pressure and focus more on how I spend my days, especially my morning devotions, because I have noticed lately that early in the morning when my mind is still settled, it shapes my choices and actions.

Yeah, and another thing that has always been on the list of my agenda is to always prioritize the type of relationship I have with others because I always crave a genuine connection, like something that is real, not an eyeservice type or something forced. I just want something real based on honesty, truth, health, respect, and politeness.

I have planned for more, but let me stop there because in 2026 I am not seeking perfection, but it is about becoming intentional about who I want to become even though the journey might experience some ups and downs, but as long as there is growth, I am fine. And now that the year just kickstarted, With the grace of God, I am ready to begin with hope and endurance.
