Hello World
Hello Steem, my name is Lucas, and I'm just a student, albeit, probably not your average student either: I've moved around quite a lot in my relatively short life time, having lived in 4 countries across 2 continents. I do realize that I'm really lucky to be able to do that, and most people don't have that kind of opportunity to travel, although at the same time, I never really had any one community in particular which I was always a part of, so there are some down sides I guess too.
I used to learn the drums (for 2 or 3 years), having quit recently after deciding it wasn't for me, and I used to do a lot of competitive swimming too, but now I play basketball instead. In the past few years, I'd say I've come to be an autodidact, having taught myself programming, how financial markets move, and other topics I find interesting. I originally started programming a few years ago, starting in HTML (if you're a programmer, or maybe even if you aren't, you'll know that's probably not that much of an achievement, but anyway), which led me to follow web development; I learnt CSS and even some basic Javascript to build my front-end skills, and then I started doing some back-end too, with PHP and a tiny bit of SQL. I recently launched a small food delivery business in my school, where I coded a website with a fully functional login/logout user account system and users had credit, which they could use to purchase items or transfer to other users too. I'm currently learning iOS app development & swift, and I've been doing some python on the side for a while now. My biggest issue is probably that I'm a bit of a 'jack of all trades, master of none' kind of guy because I haven't delved super in-depth into any of those languages.
I have a strong interest in entrepreneurship, and I'm actively seeking out opportunities to develop my business skills (and other skills too). I've come to make myself reasonably comfortable with public speaking, and I'm currently trying to plan to do a TED talk at a TEDx event near me. I do some photography every once in a while too, and I really enjoy the outdoors sometimes - I love bustling cities (and I live near one), but sometimes I like to go somewhere really remote and I just connect with nature a little (the picture below is one of mine, which I took a few years ago in Australia). I'm a really curious guy, and I love to learn about pretty much anything.
