Dragon/Water is, whenever possible, my go-to splinter combination. At least until I level up some other Summoners. I’ve been playing Splinterlands for four months now, but have yet to get a “feel” for the Life splinter. Given my druthers, I tend to play Earth.

California Considers Vaccine Mandate for All Workplaces

California would be the first state to impose Covid-19 vaccine mandates at all workplaces under sweeping new legislation to be unveiled Friday,.
The bill from Assemblymember Buffy Wicks (D) comes as Gov. Gavin Newsom plans to release a statewide pandemic exit strategy signaling the transition to an ‘endemic’ phase of the public health crisis.

SCOTUS overturn Biden’s workplace vaccine mandate specifically because it was an Executive Order that bypassed Congress but since this would be coming from the legislative branch, it might well survive judicial review.

Dispatch from the Ottawa Front: Sloly is telling you all he’s in trouble. Who’s listening?

I have the terrible feeling, and I've spoken with five separate sources in government roles or in adjacent security positions who all confirmed this, that Sloly is one of the damn few people in Ottawa who understands the situation he's in, and he's trying to get everyone else to notice, or at least to catch up to his understanding. My sources, alas, seem to think that most others involved in decision-making are only just now starting to realize the enormity of the challenge in the capital. Sloly figured it out last week.

Recording Could Undermine Capitol Rioter’s Plea Deal

A Beverly Hills cosmetologist who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in support of the man she calls ‘Trumpy Bear,’ recently told fellow supporters that she only pleaded guilty ‘to stay out of jail,’ that she didn’t read the plea deal she signed, and that she doesn’t think Capitol defendants will get locked away for a long time because former President Donald Trump is ‘coming back’.
Under the plea deal, Gina Bisignano was supposed to cooperate with the government, and could receive credit at sentencing for demonstrating acceptance of responsibility. But in a recording of a recent voice chat she had with supporters of Jan. 6 defendants, Bisignano didn’t exactly strike a conciliatory tone.

Republicans Silent on Trump Taking ‘Top Secret’ Docs

Donald Trump once thundered that the questions surrounding Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server were ‘bigger than Watergate.’ On his 2016 presidential campaign, ‘where are her emails?’ became a Republican rallying cry that was soon replaced with an even more threatening demand: ‘Lock her up.’
Now, it’s Mr. Trump who faces accusations of improperly taking government records to his private residence. But among Republicans, once so forceful about the issue of mishandling documents, there was little sign of outrage.

The Moment Sarah Palin’s Testimony Fell Apart

I admit, at this point in her testimony, I was a little impressed. Palin in no way resembled the caricature I had in my head. She was confident, articulate, and—somewhat to my surprise—quite lucid. I’m not saying she was Stephen Hawking, but she at least evinced a sort of horse sense, paired with grinning charisma, that you could imagine might make her an effective mayor or governor. Then, about a half hour in, the wheels came off.
